After putting this model together and prepping for a game, a person in my group mentioned the base was incorrect for an S7. As I happen to have another still in the box, they seem to include a 40mm base versus the larger used by other S7 models.

Is Army builder incorrect or is this a gap between production and Army Builder or is this a bug and the unit is actually smaller?

Any help would be appreciated as I have already built and painted one model and want to be able to use it as built. Thanks in advance.

I think you might have gotten one of the older boxes with a 40mm base inside. It happens with some TAGs. The correct size is 60mm

55mm, bases increase by 15mm increments.

But otherwise this is correct. The Anaconda was first released with a 40mm base, before the 55mm bases were first used in late N2, and before the Silhouette attribute was introduced with N3. Packaging of many TAGs, Bikes, and Remotes was changed to include a 55mm when the edition changed.

It seems you're unfortunate enough to have found boxes that have sat on a shelf for seven or eight years.

This is the original box that would have had a 40mm base.

This is the repacked N3 box that should have a 55mm base

I'd contact CB's parts replacement line, and explain that you've gotten the wrong size base, they may be willing to replace the bases.

@colbrook Just for clarity between your two informative posts, you did you mean 55mm in your second post with the images right ?

As an added twist I've just thought of, any box packed before August 2019 will have a plain round base, any after that will be one with LoF markings, I don't believe there's any way to tell before opening it.

Around Spring/Summer 2019 they switched to a lead free pewter too, but anything before that will have a warning on the box or blister hanging tab indicating the lead content (3-5% IIRC). You can also tell with the interior boxes as lead pewter minis come in plain brown boxes and lead free ones come in white Corvus Belli branded ones.

Great info everyone and I really appreciate the feedback, the tidbit about lead in the models is also helpful. I always assumed this might be the case and take care touching these units before painting. I think I'm just going to stick the larger base under the model and try some green stuff to attempt a smooth transition. At least it will be a legal unit, I'm too far in this WIP to pull off the old base :-)

Touching won't harm you, the amount of lead is very small and very hard to separate from the alloy. Just don't melt them down and inhale the fumes and you'll be alright.

If you have a minidrill (or lots of patience), make a >40mm hole in the 55mm and the joint will be less obvious (no or minimal step). IOW, use the ring and just a bit of the top surface of the bigger base to frame the current one.

What you got already is too nice to end with a big obvious bump.

I have my bikes on 50mm magnetized bases. For play, I just stick 55mm bases underneath them with magnets. For display, the under-bases come off. That would work here if you like how it looks currently for display purposes and don't mind the under-base look during play.

That's an excellent idea! Thanks and I didn't even think of that but good idea. The magnetized base is also interesting thought and I might play with that idea as well.

I really appreciate the feedback and just shows why Infinity has such a great gaming community. Thanks again.
