Hi, question: Xeodron has ava 4 Ovedron has ava 2 Did any of you used it? I mean putting 4x Xeodron or 2x Overdron. I understand a lot of Fraactas, or more than one Noctifier. But 50pts+ guys?
Firstly, welcome to the forums! I’ve never used the maximum availability of the overdon or the xeodron but I have used and seen an overdron be used as a good anchor piece for a back line and two of the xeodrons along with nourkias as a very scary offensive unit. They are expensive profiles but they can be very useful if you have a plan for them but I’ve never seen an army with them fully maxed out in.
Can't use Norks with two Xeodrons as someone needs to have the Fireteam: Haris skill. You can do a Sammy, Norks, and a Xeodron though as all the normal Sammies have Fireteam: Haris.
I was sure you could, Nourkias counts as an umbra Samaritan for composing fireteams and 2 xeodrons can be part of a fireteam: haris of umbra Samaritans. Unless it’s stated that counts as does not contain the same fireteam skill as what it’s counting as, for which if it doesn’t I apologise but it’s how we’ve always run counts as in fireteams.
Counts As doesn't grant any additional skills, just that he can be in the same Fireteams as a normal Sammie. The requirements to form a Haris include: https://infinitythewiki.com/Types_of_Fireteam#FIRETEAM:_HARIS > Only those units specified on their Sectorial Army List can compose a Fireteam: Haris. - Fulfilled by Norks counting as a Samaritan > At least one of the members of this Type of Fireteam must have the Fireteam: Haris Special Skill. - Norks does not have the skill, so another trooper with it must be in the Haris
Hmm. Then the purpose of him being counted as an umbra Samaritan would appear to be to prevent it not being a Samaritan link if the actual Samaritan with haris is killed. Oh well, it’s only marginally less effective with a Samaritan, Nourkias and a xeodron. Reading some of the other units in other armies that include haris or duo in one of their profiles would seem to display the fact you made quite well. Such as Cadin in Ariadna with one of his profiles able to form a haris and the other not. Hey ho. Live and learn. Thanks for the info!
Yes, it would indeed and that may actually serve a similar purpose for cheaper… let me check the points values. Yes, it could. But less survivable without no wound incap but the rodoks do have mim -3... I’ve not seen this run either in our group or online. If you’ve used it, how do you find it’s performance?
Ah, I see you are a person of culture as well! I’d say I don’t do that at all but that would be a bare faced lie… especially as I’m doing it right now. If anyone does play onyx and has run a rodok haris with Nourkias, please do say how it performed!
Damn. Didn’t see that. Oh well. A core of rodoks it is then. With sammies and Nourkias along for the ride. That actually sounds quite scary.
Rodoks are overpriced but essentially pretty good - if only they had better loadouts! Number one and two on my wishlist would be 1 a tinbot profile and 2 the khd returning. Their big problem is no tinbot. They want to bring along kerr and khd nourk but without protection they're both liable to get nuked. Nourk is better off on his own with cybermask, and kerr plays well with unidrons. So that leaves you taking nourk without khd, which is a big downgrade. I prefer a spitfire sammy with rodoks personally.
