One issue here is that "as if" or "counts as" rules are treated differently from rule set to rule set. In some rule sets a unit or rule that is "as if" something else will inherit that something else' rules but maintain their own identity meaning that other rules that interacts with that something else won't interact with this rule because it is a different identity. In other rule sets "as if" works like Infinity's fireteam where the identity is as if the other thing so that stuff that works on that thing also works on stuff that counts as it, but the unit or rule will retain their own rules, MODs and attributes. So when the zone rules tell us to treat the zone as a Poor Visibility Zone when drawing LOF to the attacker, that does imply that other rules that have effects when drawing LOF through a Poor Visibility Zone will also have those effects here, because that's how Infinity has (inadvertently) set up precedents so far. The core issue, though, seems to be that whoever penned the FAQ entry tried to be more clever than is strictly necessary. Instead of writing literally what they were trying to achieve, they tried to defer how rules works to an existing rule. Spoiler: What the skill originally read Troopers cannot draw LoF through a Zero Visibility Zone. Inside a Zero Visibility Zone, Troopers can only declare Skills that do not require LoF or that require them to be in base to base contact with their target. Any Trooper who is the target of a BS Attack into, through, or out of a Zero Visibility Zone may respond to the attacker, provided the Trooper is facing the attacker. However, in this situation, the Skills the target can declare in ARO, or as the second Short Skill of their Order, are limited to BS Attack with a -6 MOD, Dodge without the MOD, or any Skill that doesn't require LoF. (See FAQs & Errata. Sixth Sense and Multispectral Visor L1.) Spoiler: What they wrote • Troopers cannot draw LoF into, through, or out of a Zero Visibility Zone. • Any Trooper who is the target of a BS Attack into, through, or out of a Zero Visibility Zone treats the Zero Visibility Zone as a Poor Visibility Zone when drawing LoF to the attacker. Spoiler: What they managed to communicate to warcors Troopers cannot draw LoF through a Zero Visibility Zone. Any Trooper who is the target of a BS Attack into, through, or out of a Zero Visibility Zone treats the Zero Visibility Zone as a Poor Visibility Zone when drawing LoF to the attacker - but only for LOF purposes. However, in this situation, the Skills the target can declare in ARO, or as the second Short Skill of their Order, are limited to BS Attack with a -6 MOD, Dodge without the MOD, or any Skill that doesn't require LoF. (See FAQs & Errata. Sixth Sense and Multispectral Visor L1.) Notice how that didn't actually make the rule any more clear and how it kind of made the word soup worse? Spoiler: What they probably meant Troopers cannot draw LoF through a Zero Visibility Zone. Any Trooper who is the target of a BS Attack into, through, or out of a Zero Visibility Zone may draw LOF through the Zero Visibility Zone, but applying a -6 MOD. (See FAQs & Errata. Sixth Sense and Multispectral Visor L1.)
Alas. An errata should be more comprehensive and likely include examples and probably intent. This does not bode well for the "living rulebook".
Until they get an editor who is also at least a competent player of the game, the whole thing is a write off.
As far as I can find there's only one troop in the game that has MSV1 and sixth sense. I also don't thank many that actually take him (Kaurii Sentinel) or a guy that happens to have SS and gets it in a panoply. Is it worth all the comments? And if I remember right, SS already negated negatives when being shot through smoke. The MSV doesn't even really matter does it?
Well there might only be one model that has both MSV1 and Sixth Sense on their profile but there are a huge amount of MSV1 models which are core linkable and therefore gain Sixth Sense for being in a 4-man fireteam, so yes I think the discussion is very relevant.
