Not proving you wrong but want to point out that Yu Jing 3 three but only 2 are active. ISS is inactive in all but name. ISS has had no new figures specific to them in many years other than Adil MI/HI. That was almost a side effect of White Banner and the comic. I don't count Tao Wu, Kunai or MBH, either. When N4 came out they added the Deva but that's about the biggest rule change they had. The last release for them I can find is 2018 Celestial Guard. While I'd be pretty happy if they came out with something for YJ, I think Yu Jing might see something next year. Sure PanO got both SWF and New MO in the same year, but that's PanO. They are favorites and sell. We can't rule out the Sell factor too.
You can still buy ISS starter and minis though, that puts them significantly ahead of the OOP factions. At worst they've received slightly more miniature support than USARF.
I agree that Yu Jing will be very unlikely to see a big release all too soon. More likely they'll divert the typical Yu Jing trickle feed of releases to ISS minis. (All big factions gets a trickle feed during years without sectorial releases, it's not unique to Yu Jing) A rules do-over might be in the cards and is definitely something I'm hoping for, which might also explain why there's been a perfect draught for them (don't want to release more Daofei HMG sculpts), but it's not gonna be the year's (nor next year's) main event. Maybe just maybe we'll see several sectorials that find themselves far behind HB, Corregidor and the various vanillas get some polish with the Fireteam rules alterations.
Excellent point. That does make a difference and part of why I don't think Yu Jing will be getting anything special any time soon. At least not this year.
I'm still hoping for a MRRF action pack, even if in the light of Morat going OOP, CA seems more likely to get it this year. MRRF still have some arguments I think : It's one of the older OOP sectorial They got a couple of resculpt lately (Mirage 5, Paracommando) so CB could do the action pack and a couple 4 miniature boxes. The fireteam rework could bring something interesting for the faction (Metros, Loups garou, Briscards and Moblots can FT core, Loups garou and Briscard can Harris, Moblot are Wildcard) Yeah Ariadna got Kosmoflot last year, but PanO got the MO action pack and SWF in the same year too. If we follow that assumption, the sectorial would only need a Briscards box, a Loup garou Box, and Moblot, Paracommando spitfire and Zouaves blisters. That is if they want to keep it the same way, they changed some unit in the MO roster, so maybe it could happen here too. MRRF was wiped after a Shas offensive, and they're supposed to be controling Ariadna spaceport (I think ?) so maybe some O12 units could join the faction as the Alguaciles ? Bluecoat in Loup Garou's FT ? I would prefer some new units but that could be a fun twist.
Technically SWF was Adepticon 2020 and MO was Adepticon 2021,so not quite in the same year. But I'd still like to see FRRM, I preordered their starter pack as my second faction after SAA so I have a lot of love for them. Merovingia is also the richest Ariadnan nation and lacks the industrial base of TAK so they're a good case for bringing in merc support. They have a few already with Annie, Wolfgang, Knauf, and the Alguacile hacker, but it'd be nice to see some utility merc pieces added.
Officialy ISS is fully active. And all - or nearly all - Minis are available. CG are relative new and we miss only a few profiles/loadouts. Crane Hacker for example. So I didn´t wonder why ISS get very few own releases. Of course Baos are in the need of an resculpt. Not that I would regret a Action Pack in combo with a rules refresh. PS: Deva bring haris with them, wich is a big change, because we can play OSS light inside of ISS :-) --- The fact that Morats will go OOP in April is big point towards CA. I doubt a new CA sectorial, because I rember in one video Carlos mentioned the Biker-Sectorial from Haqqislam and denied it because they don´t want to release another sectorial ... but they are open for surprises so maybe Sygmaa.
I might be biased but I would like a Imperial service revamp MO style. They need it as N4 hurt them badly. Hsien MMr, crane hacker, 3 bao, hsg su Jian. One new forward deploying guy... Perfect action pack. Morats seem reasonable and would be nice too even if I don't play them. As we know some of the missing troopers I think it's safe that the Haqq-half of the Codeone action part will be heavily influenced by hassassins. Aleph will be steel quite probably. Just a afterthought is the existence of the TAG packs the proof of a Marut resculpt?
Wouldn't call it a proof. But a strong indication that we'll see one. Likely this year, likely in Siocast. The original Marut is, ehem, long in the teeth a bit. Unless, of course, they decide to give SP another TAG. Or treat Ajax the Great as TAG-eqivalent...
I just really hope that army pack is not related to MAF, I'd rather see a revamp of any already OOP sectorial. I have doubts that what has been teased will be for CA
In all honesty, the blackjack and the Ratnik should be TAGs and not SHI. Primitive TAGs compared to other factions but TAGs nonetheless
It definetly feels so. But what good would it do to them? Unability to go prone, more hacking dangers? At the end of N3 they were even able to score at TAG missions. I personally would prefer for Ariadna to get S7 tag, with really big B5 T2 Tesseum dakka, some hft or chestmines, 4-2 movement and arm 11 ) Would be nice to have immunity:POS, because no hacker can recognize whatever they made out of Linux, while being on isolation on Dawn. Back on topic - i really expect Morats to have action pack. They are closest to MO among all candidates, and removing some boxes proves this idea to me. IS can be done too, it really needs revamp. I exclude from candidates QH and SF, because of operation box.
If they got the TAG skills and the associated minor stat upgrades associated with being an actual TAG, I think they'd be quite good as TAGs. Not unlike Booty-less Triphammers to be fair.
The now standard extra order and the ability to dismount and score objectives with a specialist pilot. And yes, Invulnerability: POS would be nice and reasonable.
Hey… I love that old long in the tooth TAG… lol. But yes it is in need of some tlc these days. I would be so happy to see a new Ajax sculpt done as a TAG or increased to S6 at least (simply because he was huge before). The old sculpt was beautiful so I’d love to see a new one.
Well, with today's Studio Update we have the question answered. This year's Action Pack is going to be Morats.
