I’d like to hear opinions from other panoceania players; Which profile/miniature has been the most valuable to you? Which one is your favourite and for which reason? Have they been the linchpin around which your victories have revolved or do you like them simply for their aesthetic? Answers please!
Several different ones. Some that have been clutch for me on the table include the Varg K1 MMR (proxied, of course) who's taken down Shang Jis, Blue Wolves, and Dog Warriors galore. Zulu Cobras, the Shock MMR and Jammer/Assault Pistol, have run riot through a few different forces, including TAK, CHA, and TJC. And while they took some time for the table top performance to match the mini, I love me some Uhlans. The updates to TAGs have made them outstanding for me. I typically let them down, rather than vice versa.
Also had the first chance to take NuMO for a spin this weekend, and LOVE the AD Knight of Santiago. One game against Ramah dropped in and shattered the Kwaharij Core, even if he did to return fire, and next game dropped in and took out an Overdron Plasma Sniper and then fried Nourkias in Hacking combat.
Nice. The Dragao is one of the few I don’t own and am still trying to find. I once glued one in place with an adhesive launcher (in game, not reality). Then it shot the hell out of me when it’s engineer fixed it. Minelayers of all shades are fun. I will always be fond of anything that kills Nourkias. He has caused issues in many a game.
I always had a soft spot for the Hospitaller Doctor, tough Specialist with good BS and a multi rifle to take on most targets, you can leave a Servant in your DZ to heal and/or bring one upfield with him for that extra burst in CC or minesweeping duties. Having said this, Frenzy is more of a downside in N4 with him losing cover at the end of your turn, rather than the start of the following turn. So more of a turn 2/3 pusher.
Some excellent points here, especially regarding frenzy. The hospitallers are damn nice minis though.
I have had some solid success with Multi Rifle Mendoza - He's been able to soak 6 orders from a Marut by dodging on 16's. He's deleted a Jotum, hackers, a whole heap of TR bots, Dakinis and various other skirmishers.
Ah, Mendoza. I absolutely love the new mini as well as his aristeia! Ones. I more love the character for the fact that I can yell Mendoza! Whenever he does something like Rainer wolfcastle does on the Simpsons. Dammit, I’m old.
I have started NCA recently and I am loving Hexa Spitfires. I have been telling people they are good attack pieces for years. 30ish points, your enemy does not know where they are at deployment. Then you move them up the board, often around the side or through good cover. When you are a good position you start eating support models or maybe even a missile in a link. I also love how they look. Another model I love the look and play of is the Uhlan.
Everyone underestimates hexas units. Until they reveal at the right moment and hit your opponent where it hurts. I’m using a Zulu cobra at the moment as my hexas with spitfire. Some more love here too for the uhlan, it’s such a nice mini.
I too would like this but only because I like FD in 150 point games… it can be incredibly funny on smaller maps. But yes, it does seem in the hexas idiom to have some sort of FD. I am very happy with the performance of mine so far though. The dice gods have blessed them.
I am lucky I have 2 Hexa spitfires but only 1 MSR. I am looking for a second Uhlan, ran 2 in a tournament to many peoples shock and horror.
I too am shocked! 2 uhlans! That must have been brutal. They have an excellent weapon loadout. I only have the one. I also keep an eye out but whenever I see one it’s at an eye watering price.
It was 2 Uhlans, a core of fusiliers with a missile launcher and Aquila FTO, Fugazi, Warcore, Fusilier Spec-Op as a wip 15 doctor engineer with 2 palbots. First two games I got to go first and I used the Uhlans speed and weapons to kill 6 models and the LT in both games turn 1 while ending with the Uhlans back in camo. In the first two games combine I lost like 23 or 25 points. The last one I had to go second and that was rough but still won. Missions where Quadrent control, The Panic Room, and The Armory. The core took the room while the Uhlans kept everyone down or dead. I love the Feuerbach on the Uhlans. I played Steel Phalanx when I started so Feuerbach and HRL are sort of my go to weapons.
A Lancer and Uhlan with EVO support can be extra nasty. The Lancer becomes an excellent Hacker hunter, since any Hacking attack starts at -6, plus effective BTS9. “Oh, you want to Hack me? Eat MULTI Pistol.”
