I've been saying this for years. The boy is just as large as the Gecko. Both the Blackjack and Ratnik should be bumped up to S6 at the minimum and made into TAG's Solving two problems at once, in giving Ariadna at least an in faction option in missions that require TAG's. (Cause we know those are gonna come back at some point) And also another unit with STR to do repair classifieds on.
Betas Pretty cool. Why would a remote need a hacking helmet/faceplate/thingy? I guess it does make him more recognizable as the hacker. The tinbot looks like the mining bot from TAG raid. Long Ya I'm still not sure on these guys. I like that it's different but not sure I like other than that. Hope it grows on me. Noticifer Kick ass. I need to get back into CA/Shas. February I am glad the YJ action pack is coming out but by that time the money I had for it will be spent. So consolation price is a Shaolin :) Wow new Yuan Yuan! I'm looking forward to what it will look like. To bad they are not as good anymore. They were a staple in my Ikari. Now I take the Desperado for my smoking. So finally Long Ya after waiting for a year and Fuzzbots, even longer. Better than some I guess. Still waiting for 5+ profiles that have not a single figure.
It's a variation of Hector's Marvin the Martian tinbot with a different helmet (ALEPH's sub-sections being equiped by O-12).
The strangest thing about the Long Ya to me is that they seem like kind-of a weird size relative to how they're listed (S3) in the army builder. I can't tell without comparison but they look to be more like S2 figure height (not quite tall enough to be S5)... I think this could be a bit frustrating on the table because of the mismatch between how they appear and what they can see and/or can see them. Maybe they'll change the Silhouette rating when they release them? I actually like the Long Ya design a lot though... but it does mean that I'll be more incentivized to buy these rather than keep proxying my Yaokong, so it becomes just another thing to add to my paint queue.
Someone did a photoshop comparison on Facebook, matching the size of the bases to the Su Jian. If you ignore the antenna/dish that sticks up they're a little taller than the cat form, but shorter than the combat form.
Real noctifer was always a bolder, that controlls shasvastii with weapon to bear it's evil will. So yes. It is really confusin to see Noctifer without main part.
Oof, now get the old Yuan Yuan while it's still available or wait for the new one. The old DA CCW is pretty great... Decisions. I don't think we've seen any renders or concept art yet?
Yeah always liked the female Yuan sculpt. I don't think we will see the likes in the new version unless they do an exceptional job with it, I will keep fingers crossed.
Agreed. It needs to be a "I'll buy just to paint" figure. It's only available to QK and Ikari. Also they are just not used much anymore. QK more than IK. IK has options with Desperados and Yojimbo. QK now has NCO ghulam GL too.
Ok... I got some time to think about everything. I am ok with repacks. I just hate to think some old models like Blackjack could be in siocast. (=dead for me). But that's good to see that CB are trying to use old miniatures and rework them in rules (I hope) than creating new and new and new things. Entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity))
We're finally getting Long Ya aaaand ... they look weird. Gonna wait for some additional angles but my first impression is "yikes". At least they are mechanical and easily converted. Those legs seem like a nice base for a REM, it's just the upper part that is a jumbled mess.
Na, they look great. Bringing back memories from like 25 years ago. Surprising move from CB, but pleasantly surprising.
