I just realized, after the Jujak come out, there's nothing in Yu Jing that would requires a box set. All that can have a core fireteam and some haris now has a box. All that's left for them to make anything is Tian Gou, and I guess Long Ya can be a two figure box set. But after than we have nothing. All YJ cores: Celestial Guard Wu Ming Zuyong Zhanshi Shang Ji Are there other factions in the same boat?
It kind of begs the question, why come out with a box of Jujak, who can't form any fireteam other than Duo on their own, but they only come out with a single Ye Mao who can form a Haris? I really don't understand their logic sometimes
Make box, put other products inside, maybe with stickers saying they are from bundle. Same than books or DVDs, which sometimes just go with a paper strap. Spoiler: Examples 3 books launched separate over the years. Later packed into box, no reprints. Paper strap with new barcode and shrink wrap. Again reusing previous material. Which maybe it is what is going with these latest CB products. Just that they went all in, without stopping first at smaller bundles. Like all DVDs of whatever show (40 discs), without doing first per season packs (4 boxes, 10 discs each. eg). The "bottom line" logic.
Not really related to CB's release calendar but I've just learned that Outrage's translation in French is on the go. So technically, it's kinda Christmas thingy to me.
It's definitely weird. I guess CB follow a similar approach to their releases as GW: miniatures first, everything else second. The Jujak designs might have been in the pipeline well before their rules were made or before WB and WC were finalized as sectorials. Basically, the designers wanted to release a Jujak box because they looked great, and the rules team kind of failed to translate that onto the table so far. I'm fairly confident they will change them up in some ways though because their current rules will discourage many people from committing to a purchase.
Yes they catched up with the core troops but there are many loadouts missing for: Hundun, Liu Xing, Hulang, Jujak (Engineer, instead they give us a char, that is not even Wysiwyg out of the box), Zhanying. If you go into detail, many factions do not have GL profiles on their core troops. But yes, when you aim only for new boxes, we have non on que. Tian could be blister with MTs and Long Ya also a blister. Add, that the third Ye Mao was locked in a 80,- € ITS box (together with a beauty of a Jotum I have to admit). The new Hacker is the only one, that could be buyed seperatly. And Jujaks, ruleswise could be played together in a Shang Ji team. Not that much people will do that, especialy not with all 4 Jujaks and they still have to prox So-Ra, because none of her loadouts fits the mini in the box. Even with " the word wildcard is stretched very much for - can join a Shang-Ji fireteam. Jujaks look great and could be great and playable so easy, I don´t understand why they put such restrictions on them in their core sectorial and don´t manged it to make a loadout for So-Ra thats is in consens with the box, like Combi+HFT+Tinbot - easy. I mean they are limited to two sectorials and vanilla (where you never play more than one Jujak), is that the great plan to make good selling numbers of this box?
Which are not really needed anymore, thanks to the "triple-nerf" (Range-MODs, Targeted,Trajectory) for the GLs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well, on the other hand, once I recall my early Infinity days in 2ed, where we were blasting at each other with long-range GL fire all the time (unless a round dispersed back onto one's position, that is...) ;) In the long run, wasn't fun either.
