Yeah, this is so weird to me. Hopefully it has an arm option to replace the shotgun. But even worse is knowing that I need to buy the same model twice, and possibly the controller again for the impetuous bear who doesn't need her. 2 bearpodes is near essential for competitive ariadna play. I already have the antipode pack controller and mc mcmurrough / duroc for "bear" podes, but still. slightly annoying. The fact that they are gonna be plastic is disappointing too.

I might just skip it. Sgt duroc is fluffy enough to be a bear...

That was true in N3, but in N4 it's the shotgun that's more common I find because of the minelayer profile.

Is the Army update still today?

I can't remember but when they do updates, does it ruin the armies you've saved?

Edit: Oops l forgot to clear my cache. It's showing now.

I think that looks a lot cooler now that's painted! At first I wasn't too sure but now that I can see depth a bit better, it's pretty good!

The front view looks unfortunately like the controller is about to shoot the bear in the back of the head.

It's cool to see the painted resin master, what I'd like to see is the unpainted Siocast.

No, the painters paint master copies made from the primary master mould, with high quality resin. It's like a perfect boutique copy of the miniature, ideal detail sharpness and definition, no mould lines or shifts, etc. - sometimes, depending on technology and company, the painters' copies are high resolution 3D prints.

Even with metal we never see miniatures THIS good. And the Siocast will definitely not be even close to the master copies. So no, this does in now way, shape or form reflect the quality of the final product, it's just a sculpt / paintjob showcase.

I am trying to remember the AoS model that had obvious print lines when it was announced. I think it was the Abhorrent Arch-Regent, where the first reveal had some minor print lines on the armor and a finger broken off showing miscolored resin that didn't match their plastic. Either that or a Nighthaunt in the same year.

But yeah, 3D print masters are pretty common now. I have even seen a few small operations show 3D prints in their store page for cast resin or metal models.

I'd imagine that print quality is quite far down the list of why they'd be painting high-res 3D prints.

For example, there can be issues with scale on those prints since they have different material shrinkage than the final products. I think it's more likely they get a selection of the most perfect pieces from the first runs with instant informal access to replacement parts in case of defects.

In either case they do need those minis painted before they start selling them, so if the high-res 3d print is the only thing at hand, that's what they'll have them paint.

    Conversion idea for the controller.

I saw some humanoid bears in Tsutomu Nihei's manga (like Biomega, knight of Sidonia), not impossible that it was part of the design references.

Ask Farcebook (probably something about being logged or not, or a shadow profile matching or not), they are hosted under fbcdn.net. Which means both images will disappear in some months.

Because FF is terrible, unsupported, dead-end tech past EOL?
Or more likely because the forum software hates images.
