I thought I'd get this started with the video. PDF's yet to come out. Some things of note: Terrain (total, mountain) and Climbing plus get +1" to the first movement. Blizzard mission has templates that are put down that has Mountain Terrain, Saturation, and Difficult Terrain When you deploy a biker you can make them Non-impetuous and gain cover if you want them to. A free MBH is some missions. That first one is great for Yu Jing. We have a lot of T(T). Other factions have some but more are specific like Zero-G or Jungle. Below is a list of troops with Terrain (Total) and/or Climb Plus. Right away our HI jump out at me. Su-Jian with 9-2 move! Daofei, Shang Ji with 7-2. (Edit: sorry Su-Jian 9-4 in Mobility form) KNAUF MULTI Sniper Rifle / AP Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 32) MAJOR LUNAH VIRAL Sniper Rifle / Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 29) HAWKWOOD K1 Marksman Rifle, Nanopulser(+1B) / MULTI Pistol, Monofilament CC Weapon. (0 | 41) TIGER SOLDIER Combi Rifle, Light Flamethrower / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 29) YĚ MĀO MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt, Panzerfaust / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 27) DÀOFĚI Boarding Shotgun, D-Charges / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 49) MÓWÁNG MULTI Rifle, Flammenspeer / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 41) SHÀNG JÍ MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 36) SÙ-JIÀN Spitfire, Light Flamethrower, Panzerfaust / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 54) ZHĒNCHÁ (Forward Observer) Boarding Shotgun, D-Charges / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 37) GROUP 2 6 2 BLUE WOLF AP Spitfire, Heavy Flamethrower, Panzerfaust / DA CC Weapon. (1.5 | 71) BLUE WOLF PILOT Light Shotgun / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 0) GŬILÁNG Boarding Shotgun, Shock Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 25) KǍNRÈN Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Monofilament CC Weapon. (0 | 23) KUNAI NINJA MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (1.5 | 34) NINJA Tactical Bow / Pistol, DA CC Weapon. (0 | 26) MONSTRUCKER Boarding Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher, E/M Grenades / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 17) JING QO MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt / AP + DA CC Weapon, Breaker Pistol. (0 | 36)
Can reach 9-4 move 70% of the time and the other 30% is a 9-0 move. Slightly better than 9-2 a 100% of the time, if you are a gambler.
If you are dodging yeah. I was refering to changing from tiger form to combat form at your second short move skill
ah! i thought it was only allowed at the start of the order. I checked and yes su-jian can still transmute mid-order. (dismount in the past also said start of move but was faq'd to start of the move at the start of the order; which made me thought they changed all similar cases too.)
I think this means you can also make a 9" cautious move with the Su Jian, which is pretty great for hopping repeater zones.
For that Blizzard mission, I'm going to intentionally put the templates on my Guliang. He's minimally effected by the movement restrictions (Mountain +1" first move, -1 each move for Difficult Terrain) and the Saturation protects him as well.
I think yes. Any skill with the Movement label gets a +1 Mov, if you are in the terrain type. If the whole table is that terrain type, you always have +1 Mov on your profile. So Jump, Climb, Cautious Movement all get the +1 Mov.
Terrain skills let you ignore Difficult Terrain restrictions, so the Guliang becomes effectively 5-4!
As far as I see they are separate things. Terrain skill only applies to specific types of terrain and says nothing about Difficult Terrain. You get a +1 to first move in that type of terrain. Difficult says nothing about the Terrain Skill negating it's effect.
https://infinitythewiki.com/Terrain The user may move normally through Terrain areas of their Terrain Type without applying any of the Movement restrictions provided by that Terrain area.
is it this under Special Terrain? https://infinitythewiki.com/Terrain_&_Scenery_Structures Terrain Type only talks about the different types. Desert, Jungle, Mountain, etc. Nothing about what those types do. I then found the chart there.
No I don't think so. If you have Total or Mountain you get the +1. Even with total you need to choose what type it is before the game. So even more reason to put the template on a Guilang!
No, I mean the table wide rule plus the blizzard zones, would a unit actually wind up getting +2 when they walk onto a blizzard zone.
That's the terrain skill, so anyone with Terrain (Mountain) or Terrain (Total) will ignore any movement restrictions caused by the Blizzard zones.
Well it all sounds good to me! It's not huge but cool YJ has a slight advantage. Looking at other forces YJ has a lot of Terrain Total in comparison. Just a few C+ though. The things with the bikes will only apply to new-ish MBH. I'm thinking for them, since they don't have any vis mods at all, it would be good to make them non-impetuous. Others like Kum, Aragoto, Desperadoes might be fine with keeping the Imp. They at least have smoke or mimetisim.
Aragoto are absolutely going to ditch impetuous, they're mimetic shooters they want to stack cover mods. On top of that the KHD profile becomes able to be an Impersonator marker state that moves 14" a turn dashing between total cover if it drops impetuous.
The two are different mission rules and seem to never overlap. If they somehow ever managed to stack, maybe with Dazer+Anatartic Territory it would be possible, pretty sure it would be a 2" bonus.
