Potentially unpopular take - just because you can, doesn't mean you should. The crazy poses and compositions that GW pioneered are inferior to a detailed sculpt and a well-chosen pose that conveys the strengths of the model.
Right, paraphrasing Goldblum in Jurassic Park: The world already has too many cases where that quote applies with minimal adjustments. :( No need of adding more. A joke model in Bootleg range composed of three models trying to impersonate another, fine. But that is a different thing. Even so, the Nomad remote has chunky legs, so I wonder how springy the models would be with sillier (than current) tactical rocks.
GMG review of the new thermoplastic vostok is up. He opens the box of what he says is the final product, but that vostok does not have the head as a separate piece. Later he mentions he got a second one where the head was cast separately. GMG Reviews - Injected Thermoplastic Vostok Sputnik by Corvus Belli - YouTube
Got my Vostok a few days ago so I wrote a review (in french only): http://desfigssurunplateau.over-blog.com/2021/09/infinity-corvus-belli-passe-au-plastique.html In short, I'm happy with this new material. Details are here. Imo it's not better than metal but It's not worse either. It'll just ask to change habits for preparing the minis which is no big deal if you're used to other companies' stuff.
Other reviewers got production sample boxes with the same "FINAL PRODUCT" label, but then they made a last minute edit to the molds anyway to detach the head part. Anything you buy in a store should have a separate head.
Google autotranslate seems to work pretty well on this converting it to English. Very thorough review - thanks.
... Only to *bin* ALL of them when the newer Haqq bikers came out (replaced ALL of them with the newer models).
Nah, Magno was the one who filmed throwing his old Kums into the bin after seeing new ones. The all-Kum-army dude was basing his on new ones from the start.
One of the guys in Melbourne did an entire kum army on the old bikes as well. He tossed them all and redid them with the new ones.
So, Bostria has indeed confirmed that the Megabeast is too big for their SioCast machines, which is the reason it will not be siocast - MuadDib did predict that correctly.
OMFG, that Vostok 360 just hurts to watch. I hope the separate head and adjustments to the process resulted in better casting.
A couple of pictures from WGC Infinity from Facebook. Not mine, I'm just the messenger (No kill, pls). Seems most of the issues that we've already noticed are still around. The irregularities on the surfaces are pretty concerning, but imho fixable with patience and some experience. The misshapen grill definitely concerns me a lot more. Similar elements exist on quite a lot of models and it is not something that you can fix by spending tons of time on sanding.
Yep, area around the head was fixed, the rest still looks like shit. The Bearpode is going to be one fugly piece of crap. Such a shame. Small wonder they've finally decided Chinese PVC is still a better choice for TAG RAID.
OK, I'm honestly starting to lose patience with CB "Quality Control". Just got Beyond Crimson Stone, the Vostok they've sent is the non-production variant, the one without the detachable head, with melted down "neck". It's absolutely god awful and now I have to subject the guy I've split the box with to even more waiting. What the hell, CB. Guys, this is the CB survey from the thermoplastic flyer's QR code. Tell them what you think! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdaBs7a2SQFKYd4oXzM52vY5FnXlk2ytm3QFqB-N8X03WboBw/viewform
Nuada, this is the old sculpt before they split the head. It'd be more useful to confine criticism only to the new vostoks.
This is the old sculpt they weren't supposed to sell to people, they said they would sell the separate head one - why the hell did I just get it in a Beyond box that premiered last Saturday?
I thought about to order Crimson Stone with friend, but I didn’t want to pay the same price for Beyond part because that plastic things... It is sorry, but I can’t used to the fact I should pay the price of metal for this. So, for now we chose not to buy it. I think, I would avoid to buy plastic miniatures. :( Today we discussed in town local chat about budget miniatures made with bread. You are killing unit - you can eat it! Of course we were not serious, but I think this version sounds good. (tags would be made with caramel by the way))
