Mkay, now compare it with marvel/dc sales to figure out how many units Haqqs will get compared to a comic-con ship of Bakunin.

It feels like you guys are talking past each other. Especially since the whole thing is that a major motion picture with a stacked cast is coming out. If the release is a blockbuster and is successful, Dune (the movie) will be pop art. Possibly enough that CB might take inspiration from the armor and character designs.

I still remember the old RTS game (as much "Real Time" as any game running in my 486 was, that is XD) and there were several units on both sides. It's not as if the only options are Fremen... there's House Atreides (and their remnants after their hiccup in Dune), the Harkonnen troops, the Imperial troops, the Bene Gesserit (those I feel like Akbar doctors with viral melee weapons and other nasty surprises would represent nicely), the navigators... and that's just the "main cast"...
And no, I never watched the movie, I only read the books a loooong time ago (not my cup of tea, frankly, but I read all the originally published by Frank Herbert... I'm no fan of the "found manuscripts" that came after his death. Or Tolkien's).

Sure, a unit or two could easily be lifted from the saga... It's just that the Ayyar could easily pose as a Fremen (aside from Overwatch's Reaper) easily

I honestly thought Haqq was already inspired by Dune in that Silk = spice. The concept of Fremen stillsuits also seems to mirror the head-to-toe body suit aesthetic of the Hassassins.

For me, tuareg would look like the freemen.

Maybe can produce one small ornitopter instead the rumored fly motorbike for khanate...

This 100% its pretty clear it has always been Dune inspired.

I always thought the Tuareg was fremen inspired too.

Yeah, the "Desert planet that's also the only source of life extending drugs" similarity between Arrakis and Bourak is no accident.

That what my local Warcor suggests. But he trolls all the time. Or is conducting market research even though I'm clearly not the demographic.

I could make a case either way for Qapu Khalqi for the "Khanite". /shrug.

    Probably.

But I'm old enough to remember when it would be compared to the OPEC embargo.

More likely it was the other way around.

    1965? :D

Most likely it was taken from traditional peoples. Badly. But still...

Hopefully the Saladin teaser means something good. I am still waiting for that Shakush. Love the Naffatun and want to get the TAG version...

Yes, I meant the actual Tuaregs, not the Infinity unit. I didn't mean them specifically, but Fremen blue eyes reminded me of how Tuaregs were sometimes called bluefaces due to their indigo shawls dyeing the skin.

Sorry, I thought I was agreeing with you. The date was because sometimes I think people don't realize how old Dune is.

Pretty sure its design is like Baron Nashor, apart from being a sandworm like in Dune.

On that note: I've seen Dune yesterday. By pure chance, my Tuareg are the next models on the "to paint" list.
I've just decided on a different paint scheme.

I‘m trying still to find out, which arms I will give the hacker.

BTW, many of Haqq‘ N3 miniatures are inspired by Dune, staring with the Ghazi.
