Not that I dislike that fireteam and I'm now increasingly having difficulties from defending myself from accusations of simping, but if you're looking for a cheap way to get a roadblock ML ARO, wouldn't it be better to just take the Yan Huo Neurocinitcs profile for 45 points? I know there's the added flexibility from the baggage bots and filling extra orders but still.
The Baggage is especially good in area control missions. That small team puts 59+40pts in an area. Also repeaters if needed. I get a bit confused when they mention very specific figures for some teams. The Yan Huo is 1 Zuyong + 2 Yan Huo FTO. Since it can Wildcard, it can replace the Zuyong and a single Yan Huo FTO? If so, that's also an option for +7pts.
It's 10pts cheaper than putting the Yan Huo in that link, and the Yan Huo doesn't have a particularly good short range option. The Neurocinetics version has the issue of it's fucking useless in the active turn and if it fails a guts check it can be a bit of a cunt to get it to stand back up without getting shot (and subsequently wasting the order by diving prone again). The Zuyong has a shotgun which gives it alot more punch up close. When I look at it I see something I can leave in position, and if my opponent elects to avoid it it has the capacity to run into the midfield with a second combat group's orders and fuck something up or take those orders and sweep out units like Andromeda or Impersonators that have deployed aggressively courtesy of its burst 3 shotgun, or chase down warbands/dogs that are lurking too close for comfort to my lines.
Plus this Haris brings 2 more regular orders to the table, for a meager price of -2 Arm and -1 BS (when compared to Yan Huo with neurocinetics) :). Its worth to check out imho. (The Yan Huo model looks much cooler dough :-P ).
Yes, Yan Huo would be the favorite, alone for the looks. But I like the active B2 ML option to attack defensive HMG pieces. Cheap orders is also a selling point. I hate the bots in any team where they have to move, but this one should be quite static. The bots also bring a repeater network and defensive shotguns.
I'm actually stealing this for Supremacy. But in this case I'm using the regeneration HMG. I figure since it's about points on the board and I'm not likely to have a doctor near him, Regen is the way to go.
Baggage no longer helps for area control missions, though reloading koalas and madtraps is more useful than it used to be.
It does in the mission. It's no longer in the rules for Baggage. BAGGAGE Troopers possessing the Baggage piece of Equipment that are inside a Zone of Operations and in a non-Null State provide an additional 20 Victory Points for Dominating the ZO.
Yeah, it makes sense to put mission-specific rules in the applicable missions. It allows for area control missions where Baggage doesn’t grant extra points, or where it grants even more than usual, or where a different trait or skill grants those points.
For sure. It also lets them tweak the rule between seasons or design a donkey themed mission where toting baggage around is the point of the game and gives a bigger bonus.
Oof. A mission where the goal is to cross the map with as many Baggage troops as possible would be a great reason to bring a double Kameel double Maggie Ramah list. Slap Fairy Dust (TAG) on using one EVO and Fairy Dust (REM) on with a second EVO, sprinkle in unhackable infantry, and go go go…
Im not sure if I've got it mixed up or not. For core you dont need anyone with the skill itself right? And in haris there has to be at least one model with haris skill even if its a wildcard? ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 3 YĀN HUǑ FTO Missile Launcher(+1B) / CC Weapon, Heavy Pistol. (1.5 | 42) PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun ( ) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 12) PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun ( ) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 12) 1.5 SWC | 66 Points Open in Infinity Army In other words, is this a legal haris? EDIT: I guess there go my hopes and dreams. SO for core you dont need the skill but for duo and haris at least one dude must have corresponding skill.
I used a modified version of that at 400 points, subbed one Pango out for a Son-Bae. Felt reasonably decent. It has occured to me however that this configuration of a budget attack/defense 2nd combat group Haris is probably superior for a minor points increase: 3 1 SHÀNG JÍ (Tactical Awareness) Heavy Rocket Launcher, Light Shotgun / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (1.5 | 38) PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun ( ) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 12) PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun ( ) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 12) 1.5 SWC | 62 Points It gets better range bands and burst if it winds up going on the offensive with the HRL, still packs the LSG and brings an extra order to boot while maintaining a cheap enough fireteam to be completely expendable.
I really like this too. It's perfect for area control missions. I was wondering if something like this could be good. Maybe not needed with the hacker but that's a huge hacking area. And the Shang Ji hacker is very good if expensive. SHÀNG JÍ (Hacker, Hacking Device) MULTI Rifle, Chain-colt ( ) / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (0.5 | 41) PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun ( ) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 12) PANGGULING FTO (Repeater) Light Shotgun ( ) / PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0 | 12) 0.5 SWC | 65 Points It's almost like Scylla or Bit & Kiss.
Seems like a good way to get an expensive hacker bricked with no tinbot. If all you want is a hacker to ARO with the Zencha would be a better option as it can hide under a camo marker until you feel it's worth committing.
Technically there is no such skill as Fireteam: Core, simply a poorly placed reminder in the Army Builder. Been this way since N2 annoyingly.
