Trooper A hits Trooper B in CC and successfully makes them go unconscious. We are still in the effects step of the order so now while in B2B contact

"A Trooper's Engaged State is automatically cancelled if, in the Effects step of any Order, all enemies in Silhouette contact are in an Immobilized or Null (except Sepsitorized or Possessed) State."

Trooper A should now be no longer engaged. (however it seems like there is a potential argument that Trooper B technically still is in the engaged state as his enemy is not in a null state, but that's not really the question I'm after)

    Now for the activation clause

"The Trooper is in Silhouette contact with an Enemy Trooper, and neither are in an Immobilized or Null (except Sepsitorized or Possessed) State."

When does this kick in again? Immediately after the effects step? Next time I activate Trooper A? Not until Trooper A leaves B2B and comes back (which seems to be the intent, so they don't get "stuck" on an unconscious body).

RAW though it seems like it should be immediately after the effects step the Engaged state kicks in again, because that's how we treat it for a TAG being possessed when in B2B contact with a (formerly) friendly model they go straight into the Engaged State.

Trooper B is in a null state (unconscious)? Then one of them is in null state so the activation clause will be invalid.

Yeah but the un-engage specifically only kicks in every effects step of an order, so you're re-engaged then un-engaged every effects step then immediately re-engaged in some engage looping hell or something.

I get the intent to unstick unconscious models but I think it's not written correctly to actually achieve that.

I don't get it, how are they re-engaging when one of them is in a Null state? Engaged only happens if neither are in a Null state.

Importantly this means that for the Guts check they'll have to Guts if they were hit (like say of they were fighting a Berzerking enemy).
