Huh what? Can you explain how the dengekitai seem worth 50 points? He's a brick. But just eating shots isn't exactly a desirable attribute in Infinity. I mean he's finally a bs13 heavy. But if my experience with the oyoroi goes, negative modifiers quickly add up to make the much faster, better shooting tag pretty inefficient in many match ups
So big guy apparently really is meh. Mediocre at shooting, mediocre in cc. Yes, he can beat non cc units wooohooo, but almost any cc unit will wreck his face with only cc20 and MA2. I would take something like Kriza Boracs any day of the week over this guy. Although, his saving grace is he can be taken in harris link, otherwise I would never take him. We shall see, but right now doesn't seem like anything to write home about. Gotta try it out first. But I can already see him failing to win ftf in his active turn against reactive Steel phalanx link. Even if he comes to cc, he will get slapped by even 16pts myrmidon, lol When I look at unit 9, I am constantly reminded of 10pts proxy mk 5 for some reason, lol
MFW noone likes a 8-6 unhackable Mimetic Specialist with Dogged and WIP14. But not paying 3 extra points for an extra B in 8" is aparently a reason to forget about that. Time to look for the "play the Mission win the Game speech". Heck I'm the sucker for optimized Profiles and could complain all day about how half the troops in the game could be improved in a meaningful way. Who else gets unhackable 8-6 Dogged Specialists? By all means no autoinclude but still, mobility tends to get overlooked a lot when evaluating troops. Mimetism and CC over 20 at least gives her a 5 points headstart against BS Attack AROs (B1 DAM13 AP+Shock is not exactly great though). Take a look at what you pay for the Domaru Spitfire, something you will most likely take in a Core Link. 38 points and that doesn't even include a CCW that kills stuff. The Dengekitai gets BS13, FAT1 +Panzerfaust +RedFury(1SWC)/MultiMMR(0SWC), drags 2 Domaru (with a Specialist Option and Neko being possible options) around and NWI is always nice to have. Not bad for 49+28+~30, not good enough for a solo piece but the Link is worth considering imho. Specialist, E/M Grenades, B2 Panzerfaust opportunity, one of the deadliest CC troops in the game and a competent B5 Gunner, all with Stealth. His CC is useable, but Domaru probably make that unneccessary. Thank Gutier they didn't burden him with a bullshit Duo like Shikami and gave him a mixed Haris. Taking a couple mines and DTWs to the face to get your ARM3 Domaru through all that annoying midfield chipdamage seems a useful addition (compared to a Spitfire Domaru). If you missed it the Oyoroi gets an AP HMG (option?) now. Isn't a Tik but Koalas, Stealth and COC to use the Lt Order are a decent trade for his kit in my book.
I like the way the links function as domaru delivery devices. Makauls and Samaritans can attest to how useful it is to have cc units naturally moving up the board. The em ccw is pretty killy, most things that can survive the first wound tend to be vulnerable to the em component.
Ok, so... If I remember correctly tomorrow there will be two videos full of concept designs. The JSA Army pack designs and battlebox & Beyond video. Enough to fill those concept design folders with plenty of JSA goodness.
@Bostria no more Profile previews for now? I know a few people who would sleep better if they knew for certain if their Haramaki are gone or were simply reimagined as Tankos Zensenbutai.
I am afraid so, sorry but it was a mistake. So guys CB has stated there will be 5 new sectorials this year, one is JSA one is heavily teased to be the Ventic, Bostria said clearly all the mercenary sectorials do not count, this leaves 3, what do you predict?
The upcoming campaing on planet dawn is going to be really akward if the Tartary Army Korps is not playable by then. I mean it's like attacking svalarheima without playable svalarheima...
Varuna, Tunguska, Ramah. In no particular order. TAK vs Shasvastii in a 2 player box next year. Invincible maybe for christmas, but most likely in full 2019. Triunvirate falls into a volcano.
Tunguska (Kriza and resculpted Szalamandra point in that direction), Invincible Army (Yu Jing will really need it now that JSA is out), and Kazaks (as mentioned, campaign on Dawn makes little sense without them). Varuna can wait, we have three sectorials already. Especially if CB will finally look at some questionable units. After seeing new Haqq starter and Beyond RV Ramah is a possibility as well, but Haqq players just got new ways to use their models with NA2. edit: Actually, after thinking a bit, Ramah might show up before Tunguska. It has more units already available in vanilla.
Tunguska, because they've been getting major model releases, there's that new art piece that made the rounds, and there were a lot of rumors flying around about them last year. Varuna because they went through the trouble of redesigning the Kamau, and because they'll need a new sectorial to stick the Sikhs in when Acontecimento explodes (if this actually happens I'll engage smug mode). And Kazakhs, because the old vanilla Ariadna starter is one of the last remaining butt-ugly outdated candidates for replacement. Based on Bostria's comments in that latest video, I'd project IA out into 2019.
On today's preview, the variety of mixed link teams seems interesting, much like for the mercenary forces, Is NA2 the 'faction' of linking different units together on a regular basis, or is this something that we'll see making its way into the older factions as well? For the factions... I'd been envisioning things by trying to imagine the narrative developments, which had me seeing two obvious 'pairings'... JSA matched by Invincible Army (the uprising and the crackdown, while also filling the holes left in Yu Jing by a sectorial going to NA2), then Tunguska matched to Vedic (as tensions erupt between Nomads and the AI). The last slot, narrative-wise, would then be Tartary, emerging based on the events which lead to, or ripple out of, the global campaign on Dawn. But after that video today... 'a hard year for Yu Jing' is an odd way to mispronounce 'a year where Yu Jing loses some samurai and gets Zuyong links and airdroppable HI'. If IA aren't coming soon, all my other assumptions are probably out the window too.
Cc specialists tend to get their faces kicked in by a 16pt myrmidon or a 14pt daturatzi or a 5 point monk. A CC 24 umbra Samaritan can just manage a fair fight with a Myrmidon. However a CC unit with multiple wounds to absorb hits from berserk units and still hit back isn't to be sniffed at when it can bring along some additional friends and put out quite a scary amount of fire. The thing is basically a gecko (but a bit more towards Ajax), things which are both good without a link. I played a game with an O Yoroi this evening, specifically playing against a Jotum, I was cursing the lack of AP. Looking forward to the updates New sectorals: another YJ probably Invincible army, Tunguska and Vedic. Doubt we'll see kazaks this year Still want my Exrah. @Bostria has told me several times to my face it's not going to happen, it's all a front. Full re release as an NA2, Caskudas with killer hacking devices for 90 points, mimetism+albedo line troops with super jump, its going to be great!
