Alice is Engaged with Bob. Both are inside Smoke. Alice declares Idle+CC Attack with a Pistol and Bob declares Dodge. Does Bob suffer a -3 MOD to his Dodge due to Alice being inside ZOC but outside LOF?
Zero visibility zone does not make you suffer a malus when dodging (emphasis on the "except dodge) : "Any Skill, Special Skill or piece of Equipment that requires LoF, except Dodge, and is declared from, into, or through a Visibility Zone suffers a MOD to the relevant Attribute in the required Roll." https://infinitythewiki.com/Visibility_Conditions#Zero_Visibility_Zone
From Dodge (underlined the relevant section): This mod is a different mod to they imposed by Low/Poor or Zero Vis Zones. The core question is, I think, does Bob have LOF to Alice (Based on @ijw answer in the CC Attack + Move thread the answer is "No"). What I'm trying to work out is whether something else would stop the -3 MOD from applying.
Just to be sure I'm getting it right: if Bob declared CC Attack he wouldn't have received any penalty since it requires no Los (so no visibility mods) and has no specific lines about conditions where there is no Los (like dodge). Am I right? In my (limited) experience, CC was already a better ARO most of the times anyway, this would make it even more so.
