Ok, I know this shouldn't raise such a topic for someone who played the game since N3 but while discussing on the topic of deploying with someone else, this question was raised as we were trying to get the optimal position from a Nanopulser/shotgun blast. And after verifying through the rules, I couldn't find anything saying the farthest Mymidon would be in total cover.

And, as we couldn't find anything against this, I think this should also be a legal template affecting both enemy troopers.

The blue line is here to show that there is a LoF from Andromeda to the blast focus.

So, did we miss something or is this correct?

As you see, there is no line starting from the point of the template and the enemy model.
No such line = no effect

In each case, the troopers under the template have a LoF to the blast focus. It may not be easy to see on the pictures, but we made sure that it was the case. So, I don't understand what you're exactly saying.

There is a line of fire, Tox. Ayadan is pointing out that the rules have failed to specify that the LOF from the Blast Focus needs to be drawn inside the template.

Edit: I stand corrected as per below

@Ayadan you also seem to have ignored the diagram showing the effect of total cover - it’s virtually identical to your first diagram with regards to cover.

The diagrams are weird, by the way. They draw LOF from the absolute centre of the blast focus

No, because in this diagram, it was obvious the trooper in total cover didn't have LoF to the blast focus, unlike in my pictures.

Uh, no. In your pictures it is obvious that no LoF exists. Also I just checked with a straightedge; there is no straight line that passes through the blast focus and touches the base of the far myrmidon.
