Just throwing in a more formalized expansion on my idea of a Kuang-Shi peripheral based TAG. Philosophically speaking, I'm not going into this with the intent of having it solve all of ISS' issues. I think a broader redesign of the faction is required for that, as a single expensive centrepiece, no matter how well equipped, is not the way to go to fix the foundational crisis that ISS faces. Instead, my goal is to have something that fits within what I feel the spirit of ISS should be, while hopefully being effective in its role. Jingwei Mobile Enforcement Division Move 6-4 / CC22 / BS14 / PH15 / WIP13 / ARM6 / BTS6 / STR3 / S6 / AVA1 Equipment ECM: Guided (-6), Multispectral Visor L1 Special SKills Martial Arts L2 • BS Attack (+1 Dam) • Stealth • Courage • Dodge (PH=11) • Immunity (Shock) • Tactical Awareness • Climbing Plus • Gizmokit (PH=11) Jingwei --- AP MK 12, Heavy Riotstopper II Kuang Shi --- Para CC Weapon (-6), EM CCW Jingwei --- AP MK 12, Heavy Riotstopper II Kuang Shi * 2 --- Para CC Weapon (-6), EM CCW Jingwei - Heavy Shotgun (+1B), Adhesive Launcher (+1B) I Tinbot: Firewall (-6) Para CC Weapon (-6), EM CCW (see Kuang Shi chain rifle profile for peripheral profile) With PanO getting TAGs with periphery bots, it only makes sense that Yu Jing would eye up that technology and make it more efficient by using a zombified political prisoner instead. Basic idea here should be pretty apparent. Something that can move around a table and be a major threat in close ranges, especially if it means punching upwards if it has to. Better smoke and long range support in ISS would be ideal for it, but again, that's a greater foundational issue within the faction, IMO, and not something I would want a TAG to be the fulcrum for. ISS is at its best when it's at its weirdest, and I think any TAG they get should exemplify that.
TAG is expensive and dig technology. Kuang-Shi is a cheap force. And I am sure, it is NOT like: “You didn’t pay taxes. Time to become a zombie!” So, Oh no, I don’t believe it. I’d better not to let brainwashed criminal to be connected even to a crab-bot. ISS is a cautious organization. Better to let piloting to someone worthy.
I think the idea is the Kuang Shi is the peripheral being controlled by the TAG or Su Jian or whatever the fuck they envisioned. I don't actually hate the idea. It'd be funny anyway.
The Kuang shi isn't piloting anything. The TAG is supposed to have a Kuang Shi control device built in, so they're synced like auxbots. A frontline heavily armed and armoured close-quarters combat coordinator and doorkicker. Because auxbots are cool and I want a very distinctly Yu Jing twist on them. Think of them like old N3 style Crazy Koalas, but with less humanity.
IMO, this is how Kuang Shi ought to be - Synch and/or Control. While I do think a new unit would need a longer range gun than "Spitfire", I think the biggest thing here is the lack of anti-materiel CCW, 'cause if there's one thing ISS has a problem with it's scenery cracking. Other than that; this seems like a great design. I'm guesstimating 70 to 75 points before adding Kuang Shi?
Now I caught an idea! Well, Su-Jian still looks like better option for me, but your version is fine. Anyway, future would show us, what happened.
I think a TAG is appropriate for them, especially for the intimidation factor. A TAG would be used for riot suppression the most I think.
A light tag with a Kuang shi control device that could form a haris with 2 other kuang shi would be pretty cool. Bad hombres around the corner? I could risk my shiny new tag or send in the chain rifling mine around the corner to clear it.
As if they probably don't already have O-12 Sanctions for the use of KS before and during the uprising. KS still makes no sense to me.
Yu Jing don't get sanctioned for the KS, PanO doesn't get sanctioned for the Helots, Ariadna doesn't get sanctioned for the Antipodes, Haqq don't get sanctioned for the Kum and Hassassin, Nomads don't get sanctioned for Pupniks, Hollow people, Sin Eaters, etc. Everyone has skeletons in their closet that all the other member nations are happy to not look too closely at.
I think those all have some plausible deniability and some are doing of their own free will. But yes I understand, it's comic books. Anything can happen. Doesn't mean I like it or will use it.
What if, instead of a Humanoid TAG we got a more Vehicular one, like an AracnoTAG, not as big as a Maghariba mind you, but something more along the lines of a Heavily Armored Tank/Truck thing. Fluff wise it would serve to intimidate, and as crowd control with Smoke Grenades and RiotStopper, Adhesive Launcher. Also love the idea of it being a Mobile Infowar Server, you just don't have to stop the people rioting on the streets but also the hackers, phreakers and anyone who'd wish to leak or get a leg up in intelligence and dirt under Yu Jing Juridiction. It can of course be outfitted with Heavy Guns due to it's sheer weight, I'd Love it to have actual people inside, serving as a Delivery or Transport for Kuang Shi or Wu ming. Fluff Wise the Su-Jian is what you need when you gotta clear a 38th floor without entering the building (along with Garuda). Make this thing what you need to stablish a perimeter and HQ in one heavily Armored Vehicle, Mad Traps could be Nice, AP weaponry as well, Hacking Device (even a defensive one), Firewall, ECM etc... Now that is what Stylistically and Fluff Wise ISS needs for urban operations. It needs a Long Range Gun of some sort,X-Visor Adhesive Launcher, Dual Akrylat Kannones, an HMG or Dual Marksman Rifles, Dual AP MK12s, whatevs, make it "vulnerable to CC", having just a regular CC weapon (imagine: more like mechanical grips for clearing debris)
I thinks someone mentioned similar. More of a super size REM. That's pretty much what a Remote Presence TAG is. Totally makes sense to me. I like the idea of it being for info war too. This is what they bring when they are doing raids on hackers and such.
