Is there any plan or rumor of bringing any Wildcards to Ikari? I imagine at least a character profile Lt Ikari and one of the many merc characters with FTO and a specialist option of some sorts.
Ah, but honestly I didnt feel like that was a right fit anyways. So no colonel Ikari Lt either then? I kind of feel like the mash up is too omnidirectional for me to be able to tell what they are good and bad at.
Sadly nothing heard. They would need to make new characters to do it I think. I can't see them having more existing profiles. I'd love a Yuan Yuan character. Or be the only ones to have the Actual Fat YY! That could be fun. Or how about a ex Wu Ming character! That would have some awesome story!
Wait, Ikari lost the Libertos? Damn, that sucks! It may not have fit in every list, but it fit the fluff pretty decently.
Would you be opposed to CB just using any of the current mercs to keep the workload down and them just making Col. Ikari with 2 types of profiles. One FTO and one AD. And definitely 1-2 more Lt options aside from the Col.
A Colonel Ikari profile with AD NCO and ground pounder Lt. 2 Wildcard (possibly also with NCO) options would be sweet. If WhiteCo can get John Kestrelboner and Druze get Arslan then Ikari for Ikari sounds very fair.
You know what would be dope. Since he's a Samurai. I'd say kit him exactly like a Domaru, AD, HI, CC24 etc etc. This would put him in the low to mid 30s. Give a supfire capable gun so he stands a chance of 2 turns and Specialist Operative so his main function isnt to die as a CC oriented LT with no CoC but an LT who makes a dash for objectives near the end of the game, sort of stealing victory from the enemy at the point of a sword, like a real pirate. I'd say other factions would be jealous and Ikari players would be really happy. I'm imagining him flying down mid game, shooting and stabbing fools grabbing the objective, he walks to a roof ledge holding a big ass holocron type device in his fist, reaches out for a skyhook line from a transport, looks at some no name Pan O mook bleeding out on the ground and says " see you in hell dr. jones!"
If we're going by the only art of him (I assume it's him) then he shouldn't be an HI in his AD incarnation, he lacks the servo muscles on the arms/thighs/neck and his pants are cloth which tends to indicate MI. Ideally I'd like to see him with a BSG so I can use the Red Veil Yuan Yuan. A non-AD FTO version could be based off a Tanko rather than Domaru, give him a Burst 3+ gun and Wildcard so he's a lot more flexible.
That shit is hella big to not be power armor, but, it doesnt look like JSA armor either... kinda looks like Jason Momoa. And yeah Idk why I didnt just say wildcard. How could Ikari company feel more like pirates? I get the merc feel but really only the AD and Bikes feels like pirates/marauders. And obviously JSA troops for his roots but there 3 3engineer options, I'm wondering tokusetsu were better than something else from JSA or some place else.
The picture you posted is the up-armored limited-edition Yuan Yuan that came with the Battlefoam bag. I still deeply regret giving that miniature away.
Ikari with tactical capabilities would be more interesting than Ikari in Domaru armor, IMO. Something that says "dishonorable ronin" more than still-a-Domaru. Something a lot like Hawkwood but evil would make sense.
A lot of Ikari's identity seems to be bound up in its appalling LT options, but Colonel Ikari's the sort I'd just give Inspiring Leadership on top of a Brawler with Holomask and a slightly fancier sword. Make the Yuan Yuans, Desperados and Cube Jaegers work together properly and let the sectorial be really quick and vicious with its fast Irregulars. Would give Ikari some standout character when compared with other force-dependent sectorials. From an outsider's perspective right now the faction looks like a generic Fireteam pusher with Yuan Yuans and generally worse options than everyone else.
Inspiring Leadership in the sectorial with tons of very fast or AD-deployed Irregular troops might be too much of an auto-take. Maybe if they made him stupidly expensive and not terribly durable?
