What annoys me is the level of repacks that's happened. I don't disparage other factions' need for releases as Yu Jing has hogged quite a few slots last few years, but CodeOne stuff seem to take up regular release space even though they're nearly all repacks for Pan-O and Yu Jing.
I am almost certain that the Yan huo with missle launcher is going to be in the beta booster since it is marked as last chance in the shop. So it will be a repack again. As I already own most of the yu jing range the boosters are a pass for me. Still hoping for an liu xing in superhero landing pose with debris exploding around him... Come on CB Make it happen! You know you want it. Well there are a few month ahead for some releases for white banner and svalarheima. So fingers crossed!
Yeah I suppose I did. But even that still illustrates my point. It might have been more special if the Blue Wolf wasn't one of 4 TAGs to come out. Edit: I don't mean to sound whiney or anything like that. I'm actually thinking of it from a sales standpoint. You would think if they make a troop so much a an important part of the army, they would have it ready to go right away. The Tian Gao must be taken at minimum to have a full Zhanshi core. Shang Ji are the only other core and a wildcard on top of that. Then they came out with only one guy who is tied to also buying other figures you might not want! Unless you go to the trouble of splitting it with a friend (if one wants to) or buying from a dealer that splits stuff. It just doesn't make business sense to me.
You’re not wrong, but there is something we need to remember. CB has terrible SKU bloat. And right now they are cleaning cleaning out the garage so to speak. Does it suck to see a bunch of repacks when you’re waiting on models in your own army? Sure. But I’d also like to see Infinity stocked at more FLGS and to do that it NEEDS to change the way it puts the product out and that is what they are doing right now.
I'm just hoping for no Characters. I'm sick of the relentless pushing of the damned things, and wouldn't be surprised if they made up half the past year's releases. I'm also considering a shift to Vanilla PanO, since NCA is now borderline garbage if you're not abusing links due to Hacking vulnerability and poor Specialists, so some good staple pieces of genuine use would be nice. That said, the PanO C1 selection is so small that they've covered nearly everything somewhere, so a Nisse/Kamau/Aquila trio is probably the most likely as those are the only real holes in the C1 range excluding Mercs.
Absolutely, but while CB is retiring the Hac Tao SKU and the Red Veil SKUs to create the Yu Jing Booster, it would be nice if they kept the same release pace on other things. March has 2 releases, 2 repacks, and 1 scenery pack. Same figures for March 2020 probably was 5 releases, 2 repacks and 0 scenery/other (without actually checking) similar to how it was for most other months that year that didn't also have a huge release similar to JSA/Uprising - same with 2019 and 2018. So, for the March release I'm sort of missing a Tohaa and a Haqq release on top of the Pan-O and Yu Jing repacks. (Even though, being totally honest, the selfish part of me is in reality annoyed that the Yu Jing Booster is a repack and doesn't provide any value for me. I wouldn't be averse to new releases being released in the format of a Booster even if this reduces the number of releases per month, but them being "old" miniatures doesn't pander to my desire to buy more toys)
I didn't realize the sets were exclusive to C1. :( I still hope for a Guilang Hacker or FO, Hundun HRL, but if limited to C1 then I want Daofei Hacker.
I am pretty sure the missle launcher Yan huo will be in there. He is marked with last chance in the CB store. But don't know, and honestly don't care what's going to be in there if it is a repack.
I'm not convinced on the Yan Huo. So far all of the figs have been the same size and close the same price. I would also be a bit disappointed since I already have one I never use.
Very excited for MOrders week, but sad that means we won't see Kosmoflot until possibly Gen Con in August. Kusanagi is very nice with a unique pose and a good sense of dynamism without being as out there as the original, I'd be tempted to pin the leg and remove the structural rock if I played Nomads. Boosters bring back some really cool sculpts but not really interesting to me, good for new players, which is their point. The Nyokas and Bronze are really great, Big B was my favourite Starmada box mini and the Nyokas look much better than their concept. Ladystrucker is much much better than Manstrucker. Can't wait to see the rest of the Longarms, wish they were better in game. Very interested to see what the Dragon Lady comes with.
Dragon Lady is probably a promo figure for the upcoming lunar new year. O-12 stuff is looking fantastic, they are really nailing that line. Longarms look fine. Not too excited about the grinny face, but that's an easy fix. Monstrucker lady is a bit busy, but a great base model nonetheless. Possibly my new Cordelia proxy after a few tweaks here and there. Boosters are repacks, so nothing special there. Good to see that the Yan Huo is still relevant for CB though. I was a bit worried about those big bois being phased out.
