As a CJC player I'm really interested in the major change to Carlota and was wondering if anyone had had any practical experience "van zanting" her on to the field yet, and how it went...

Personally I haven’t had much success with her surprisingly. I’ve had 5 games where I used her and each one has been lack luster. I can see how she can be good with her kit and mobility but at least in my meta everyone has DZ defenders and to set her up for a run takes up too much resources with not a lot of return.

I’ve personally had more success with a hellcat spitfire. Less mobile and less of a kit, but harder to predict and counter. Especially when jumping in on 18’s with an EVO if I bring Vostok link.

Yeah I've tried to get her in lists a few times but always swapped her back out again. McMurrough or a Hellcat (if I'm already brining an EVO just seem like better value for pts. I like that she has a unique place in the force now, but 30+ pts is a lot when i can get either of the others for less.

Not yet, I've been playing against a new player and I want them to have fun.

I've found her to be very usefull. Played with her a few times in mindwipe, rescue. She destroys the server very easily. Had her come in and gut people too, but worth baring in mind she is only burst 3 with bs13. She won't win every ftf.

Few recent games with her gave me a quite positive impressions. IMO, Kowalsky is good at killing but you also need to treat her as a hidden multitool.

Not only as a surprise drop troop, she has a quite astounding position as a drop engineer(since she's a Tomcat for sure). She's good for achieving Classified objectives, or rejuvenating fallen STR units, since a combination of Parachutist+Peripheral lets her take a solid position for following gunfights, while Moriarty's dropping near the target casualty.

Regarding only the role as a surprise attacker, she's good but might not be 'the best' choice. BS 13, Breaker ammo, double ADHL is quite unique, but as mentioned by others, Spitfire Hellcat might be rather cost-effective when you need some shooty-killy.

Yeah it's about variety. You get a lot of target options with breaker/ADHL and unique deployment options with enhanced parachutist, plus specialist and engineering options. There's a very good chance a situation will come up each game she can make a big difference in, and a very low chance she will be useless.
That's why I often take 2 AD, that way I can use the better one for the situation. Hellcats do get combat jump but there's nothing stopping me from taking a Hellcat BSG as well.

I still haven't taken her and can't be sure, but she passes the 'is she obviously useless?' test. I think she will end up as a unit that some players find very valuable and others will not want to pay for.

She is good in mindwipe and looting and sabotaging as she can walk on right near the target and tag it with a d-charge,

I feel like you want to get value out of her specialist skills as well as her shooting in the back potential to make her really worth it outside particular scenarios. Like if you Rambo with a solo Vostok, then use her to fix it as well as coming in from a different Vector.

I think I'd have better luck using her to push a button or something as a specialist. My group/meta has a pretty strong tendency to "finish off" any scary models at every opportunity.

Used her twice. Great for setting up shots to the flank or rearend of tough units, since a double ADHL shot from just outside ZoC is one of the worst things to those high arm hidden targets! She can also do everything we can expect from an specialist, of course... and climbing plus. I mean, some guy might think his back is safe because of a stupid container you trivially climb to shoot him.
Best used turn 2 onwards when DTW guards are tempted to go into the mid-zone...

Haven't used Carlotta yet, but like Tomcat Engineers she has a really big advantage now: her Zondcat can come in -anywhere-, it doens't have to be within any distance of her like it did in N3.

So you can use her in the opponent's back line, and drop Moriarty in from your own deployment zone edge so she can engineer your damaged bots etc. Or bring the zondcat in on a side table edge to detonate some mines, etc. etc.

Corregidor tends to be more about Wounds units than STR for me, but I've also been loving the Geckos recently so Carlotta is next in my "try this out in N4" hopper.

Oh man... I loved the Gecko models in N3. Now N4 has justified my love...
I still want to field a four Gecko list one day, just to see my opponent's face...

You can't finish her off until she deploys, so she always has one turn.

I was referring to (not) having something for her to fix. In my meta it's unlikely a remote or TAG will get anywhere and be knocked unconscious without my opponent putting one more shot into them to take them off the board (so there'd be nothing for Carlota to race on to the side/deep to fix, and so she can instead go push buttons if she survives doing her alpha-strike)

She can also drop in and fix a TAG/HI that's been isolated or glued avoiding the penalty for resetting/Dodging out of the IMM/ISO states, especially for TAGs where she can hide behind their larger silhouette. Engineer isn't just useful for healing.

Depends a bit though. Like if it catches a lucky ARO in your active they don't have the ability to put another shot in it. Then Carlotta can potentially come in behind the problem defender and neutralise them, while Moriaty simultaneously heads towards the bot to fix it.

In the re-active it depends a lot on positioning I think. Using the REMs climbing plus to put it somewhere it will fall unconscious out of LOF seems a good trick in N4, or since it has 2 STR, gutsing out of danger if it's out matched in ARO.

Good points. My lack of N4 experience is showing. I forget about things like remotes falling prone on high roofs, etc. (gotta rethink where I deploy that TR bot...)

I used her today and she was good. She walked on and killed a Missile Bot, then ambushed a Ghulam link and managed to kill Leila Sharif and the Ghulam LT with her flamethrower. She died but definitely 100% worth the trade; my opponent really had gone hard on the hackers and missile bot front so to defang that before it fired once was sweet, also putting my opponent in LOL and taking out their only KHD was very strong.

But did you use anything a Tomcat didn't get, other than 13 BS? Did you use the enhanced parachutist?
