Warsenal are based in Orlando and their awesomeness will protect anything Infinity branded from the deleterious effects of The Mouse.
Yeah, the collector box is nice, just a big box of foam with minis. Unfortunetly I seem to be lacking the two bots. I emailed QML to see if they handle it or if I need to email CB. I've assembled (no bases yet) most of the stuff, about a dozen Shas minions left. I also didn't see a larger base for the Charontid, but since I'm putting them on LOF bases, it's not a big deal to me. Billie, Jazz's remote, is just badly made though. The two pieces don't assembled together in any meaningfull way, it's very odd. The "lug" was also a sprue gate on the head part, so not sure if it was just designed wrong or what. (A previous poster also mentioned issues with their Billie.) Otherwise, Aida's offhand pistol was a little irksome, and a couple other folks had arms that needed more hands than I have to assemble, but nothing defective. The boardgame stuff is all very well made, and it's sort of neat that they were so fast with the token sheet to toss into the box.
I haven't had the chance to start building yet, but I think I'm missing Duchess and Gaspar too. Otherwise pretty impressed so far. The big chonky tokens are especially nice. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Also a mention on the kickstarter page, so I think it's not an uncommon thing. It'd be nice to see if anyone got them, to at least know if it's a problem for a batch or for all. @Koni have any info? I know it's almost Christmas so not sure who might be off already for the holiday.
I didn't back this (cause, you know, no local version) but I'd like to participate here about the following: Am I the only one to notice this ? CB is actually taking on their behalf extra costs that they are not the source and nothing even remotely legal force them to take care of. I think it deservers some cheers not only from our fellow British backers but from everyone on the community to thanks such a gesture from them. I'd call it a customer centric action and definitely like to see it more from other companies. So please join me in thanking CB for that even if you are not part in the Brexit zone. It will be be both a Christmas cheer and a step to reach the 100 pages.
It's a "nice to have" in this situation, sure. But that part where the costs are not CB's fault? Brexit wasn't exactly in June (Wave 1) or November (Wave 2). And it's not like they've found out yesterday that Brexit happens 1st Jan 2021, either. They're late with the delivery and bumped into Brexit. That's definitely not our fault, is it? So, are we glad they're not dumping the additional cost on the customer? Sure. However, that's simply expected from a company whose delayed product falls into additional costs of this type and explicitly because of the delay. They failed to deliver in the expected date, by a long run (half a year). They're simply not choosing the extremely shitty option of forcing UK backers to pay all the additional costs or not receive their product. And quite likely they would be actually liable for legal action. They've very likely calculated that the additional cost is worth the customer good will and not dealing with the legal and PR fallout and having to refund all UK backers. A company doing what it's supposed to is not doing that out of the kindness of their hearts. The specific people in the company? Sure, they probably really feel "we need to be fair with the UK backers and take it onto ourselves to pay the additional costs". But the company would not do that if the end result was just additional cost and no gain or avoidance of loss (image, PR, money, etc.).
...Holy hell. Just like that, you turned from a somewhat reasonable person to an entitled Karen. Bravo. Blame CB for corona pandemic as well, why don't you? They have to pay their customers for any delays, according to your logic.
Sure, being aware of one's customer rights and not fawning over a company doing what's right equals going Karen. I literally said - good on them, they're doing the right thing. But this is something we should expect a company to do. They 'Rona hyperbole is unwarranted. The pandemic started really severely affecting logistics in Europe in March 2020, maybe even start of April. The last Pledge Manager slot was 18th Feb - 18th Mar [see: https://www.infinitythegame.com/defiance ] and still CB advertised delivery with 1 month delay already, July 2020 as Wave 1 (Wave 2 was end of September 2020). Sure, more delays happened after that. Sure, the influence of the pandemic was great on them. But also the weird planning from CB to make minis, then take months to ship them to China, then have them packaged with the printed stuff in China and then have them shipped for months back to Europe. The weirdness of the EU ship leaving at least a month later than the US and AUS ones was also a factor. Does China ship more to EU than US? Fewer ships available to EU during the pandemic? No idea. But it's the company's risk, it shouldn't be defaulted to as ours and then us being told we should be thankful that the company didn't say "we don't care, pay up if you want to see your Defiance box or it will get trashed by Customs at the border". It's not "a Karen's entitlement" to expect a company to do the right thing and not burden the customer with additional risk and costs accrued not of the customer's fault.
There's no reason to argue with trolls. He's not gonna listen to reason and once you get him into a position he can't troll his way out of he claims disability.
Nice to see a company step up and make their customers whole, especially when it’s something the company could not foresee under, well, any standard, reasonable or otherwise.
Not to mention this is yet but a promise of fulfillment. I'd hate for this to happen but if it does, would love to hear the troll voices squeak a different melody should CB not be able to fulfill that promise after all and everyone in the UK would need to pay 22% VAT + customs taxes to even get the package. There's also already voices about minis missing and/or damaged / poorly cast in the packages.
They were in the same baggie in my Collector's box, in the top foam insert. I'll PM you with the complaint code number that is in the the baggie. It may help in your communications with CB. Also, it is PROOF, yes, PROOF, of the insidious effects of The Mouse ( Sorry Colbrook, Warsenal is too weak to oppose Disney. Let's face it, DIsney World is like Mordor, only far stronger, and significantly more evil.) Look what Disney did to Johnny Depp, and now it's randomly disintegrating minis in the Collector's Boxes. In insurance terms, a Force Majeure, or Act of God, the pandemic. The Brexit, well.. I wonder if CB had some sort of insurance, just in case. I was expecting delivery in September, probably the latter half, which is when releases are usually available hereabouts. From my perspective, there has been a 3 month delay, which is nothing for a kickstarter according to friends who have pledged for other games.
Oooh, a double post. Meh. Say, can anyone help out an old man whose cognitive functions are slowly diminishing due to the ravages of time? Are there photos of the way all the game components fit into the insert?. I know about the unboxing video, but I was wondering if there are any stills. The game has a rather large amount of 'stuff'. It's not quite Arkham Horror levels of 'stuff', but it is a lot. Those of you who played the original Arkham Horror game know what I mean. And those of you who did, I salute you. Ah, but what about those old hex and chit games from Avalon Hill BITD. Yes, those were something too but they weren't co-op games.
That was Billie, which is just a bad design I think, unless my miscast and the Australian one were right in line. :) I basically chopped the head off and cut away some material to get mine presentable. It's a piece with one arm and the body, and a piece with the other arm and the head, and the latter part has a lug that does not fit in the slot of the former like, at all.
Nope, I emailed QML and CB, so we'll see what happens. I'm sure I'll get taken care of, but hopefully it's not too long.
I could swear there was a thing in one of the updates with a picture, but when I looked yesterday I couldn't find it. The tiles fit in the lid nicely, and the cards are obvious also, but not sure if the small cards should be sorted into all those spots or... I dunno. Lots of room, so the only storage drawback I saw would be that there is a gap between the trays and the top of the box, so I wouldn't store it sideways without a spacer. I also got some baggies to put tokens in inside the big tray. I got Etherfields, Altar Quest and Defiance around the same time. CB's system seems good and thought out, and their manual is decent enough so far. Etherfields obviously has a plan for where stuff goes, but they don't feel like sharing that plan... and the manual is just not where it should be. A lot of it is due to stuff being on the cards, but they really needed a basic outline. Altar Quest's manual was not well done either, but for different reasons. Trying to condense the mini's from the trays, ugh! I actually used Starmada's box as a token holder for all the tokens since otherwise you'd just toss them in baggies on top of something else I guess.
20% but also the base price should not include VAT (custom taxes and fees are nasty enough to have to pay two VATs). It seems CB finally started handling VAT exemption, years ago the shop said something about "final price", same for everyone, EU or not. On the road to 100.
