Considering that WarCors were posting teaser images on facebook at CB's direction, I think we were just supposed to be "teased" at the current stage, somebody over at CB thinking that we would be super hype instead of worrying about models being invalidated right now.
Speculative question; would JSA be seriously in trouble if Haramaki (who are noted to be in ideological conflict with the old-timers that are Domaru) were to remain loyalists? Not that Haramaki are terribly good in vanilla, mind you, they are missing a utility equipment to be true HI Warband.
Damn if Ninja is not in JSA I bought a second KHD TacBow Ninja to paint in JSA Colours in vain :smile_cat:
Ninjas are confirmed still in. Oniwabans are confirmed out, along with "many other" JSA units. Straight from Bostria. This really does just suck. Not just the units leaving, but the fact that they're dragging it out over a week. It's like they're trying to build some bizarre anti-hype where we wait with baited breath to see just how hard we get fucked.
I suspect that they want to build hype for the rest of their products and releases coming this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the week will be about anything but JSA.
The videos are pre-produced and didn't count on the leak from the Warcor that pretty much nuked the planning. It would be more bearable if only today you'd see the Army Pack instead of like a week ago.
It is a bit difficult to hear what he says during this segment. I'm wondering if the Ninjas will still be available to both Yu Jing and JSA or if they stay with Yu Jing and JSA loose access to them completely, relying only on the Oniwabans? I guess we will find out later in the week.
I think he was pretty clear on that: The Ninjas will stay in Yu Jing, but they won't have access to many other Japanese troops, including the Oniwaban.
I'd bet on Ninjas being in both, with some of the clans staying loyal to the Japanese Emperor and some staying loyal to only money.
He says that the Ninjas who sided with JSA did so by paying allegience to the Oniwabans, so they'll be split between both.
Ninja are already in ISS, i would have been surprised if they were taken out of YJ vanilla. Although I guess it would have been possible for ninja once removed from YJ to be JSA trooper given to ISS the same as ISS already borrow other non-YJ trooper.
This is a good point. Regardless of decision, I think there's always going to be a vocal minority that's probably upset. I personally have been upset for years that the Chinese/Japanese troops in JSA don't mesh well together, and that there's a "schism" (both in gameplay terms and lore terms) with JSA units that basically serve no role at all in Vanilla Yu Jing. Certainly there are always units that shine in Sectorial and don't do well in Vanilla, but JSA in Yu Jing was always pretty egregious in this regard. Rather than painting themselves into a corner, CB has done something that's dramatic in terms of lore, and smart for the long-term health of faction. Get the units that don't really belong out of Yu Jing, and make room for additional, very healthy and interesting expansions in the year(s) to come.
Yeah, I was never interested in JSA due to this. I've just been slowly expanding into ISS. Now that JSA is it's own thing, I'm picking them up, and keeping on with JSA so I can run narrative demo games.
