Hym .. have not comented fora while .. so this Korean unit looks nice in blue but this tomato red looks funny like he is wering this wool sweter under it :)
CB look like they were influenced by Dead Space and Moebius’ space suit design in Alien On this sculp. Nothing more sci fi than a turtleneck lol!
when you put this in that way i sudenly desired a Dog warriors and Vulvers in it .. especialy Vulver Girl ..
If the above dogs are anything to go by then I agree. The turtlenecks do look pleasantly good on them.
INFINITY YU JING WHITE BANNER ARMY: Operation Kaldstrom WHITE BANNER ARMY: Operation Kaldstrom So this year I wanted to work on a few different armies (Yujing, PanO and Nomads) and had no plans to expand them that much. Then I got caught up in the hype of Code One and had to get my hands on Operation Kaldstrom, which happened to include two of those armies. It was fun to add some snow to these armies but the white was a bit taxing to do. In the end I stuck pretty closely to the studio colours for the mot part. It was a real pressure to get them all done but I managed to do it in a couple of weeks.
INFINITY PANOCEANIA WINTER FORCE: Fusiliers Fusiliers (Winter Force) I wanted to make these guys really look decked out for a winter theatre of operations so added much more white to them than the studio army. White is quite taxing to do but it was worth it. I like the idea of there being distinct colours and uniforms for different Pano sectorial armies. The glasses – and the faces! I like them better than the studio versions! Really love your color scheme!
Thanks Guys, The glasses were a fun feature to paint. I was heavily inspired by the studio but just tweaked it a bit to my own taste because I wanted more red to show through
INFINITY PANOCEANIA WINTER FORCE: Nøkken, Special Recon and Intervention Team Nøkken This guy was pretty simple to do. White jacket took ages but was the best part to paint. I like his backpack.
INFINITY PANOCEANIA WINTER FORCE: Infirmarer of Saint Lazarus Infirmarer of Saint Lazarus There were lots of details to get through on this guy that made him a bit taxing to finish. So many pouches and straps, a face that was hard to reach under the cowl, plus all the freehand that designates his Order. So much so that I was too lazy to do any osl on his sword. He turned out OK though.
INFINITY PANOCEANIA WINTER FORCE: Orc Trooper Orc Trooper Turns out that I like this guy tho most in the Kaldstrom Pano set (always the Orcs). Quite a bit of freehand and the big white jacket took the longest to paint. I wanted to paint an orc skull on his face plate, like his Varuna brother and think it turned out pretty cool. When I first did it the face looked so flat, but then I realised it needed highlighting to reflect the curve of the helmet. The Winter Force emblem was very tricky to paint and I'm happy I managed to pull it off OK.
Man, I'm so impressed with your whites. So smooth! I would also never have noticed the missing OSL on your Imfirmarer if you hadn't mentioned it. Now though I can think of nothing else but how sweet it would look to have that nice faint blue glow on the white. Maybe after that fabulous Orc you feel like going back to him one more time? ;) Also, congrats on all the nice, clean freehands. That's something I haven't approached yet. Do you have any experience with the infinity decals? I'm thinking of using those.
Thanks. Yeah white looks good when done with care. It's tricky but you have to be patient using many thin layers to get good results. I usually paint with greys first, pick out the highlights with white and then glaze white over the top. I let OSL slip on this guy but made up for it on the next one as a main feature. ;-) Freehand takes a lot of practice and patience. I have used transfers before but not on any Infinity models. Nothing wrong with them as they speed up time, but I find that the transfers that are available are by and large out of date and have not been brought up to the current range of releases so I have not bothered with them (otherwise I'd get some). Given that I have used freefand on everything it now seems a shame to go to transfers, but you never know.
INFINITY PANOCEANIA WINTER FORCE: Knight of Justice Teutonic Knights Knight of Justice Very Dynamic pose on this lady. I wanted osl from the sword to be a main feature on the model and I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out. Overall I tried to match her colour scheme to my Father Knight, as well as do a cleaner division of colours than the quite busy Studio colour scheme. Also, I imagine that she hails from the Teutonic Knights military order which is why I chose her markings as such. It was tricky model to paint with quite a bit of detail in hard to reach places such as under the cape and behind the arms swinging the sword.
INFINITY PANOCEANIA WINTER FORCE: Operation Kaldstrom So All the team is Together! There is something about painting Pamo blue that is very satisfying. I think it must be the mixing of the colour, plus blue is very forgiving to paint in general. The snow was fun to play around with too, but I agonised about how to paint the under colour on the bases. In the end I chose the cream deck plate colour of my other Pano guys so they would tie in together, which was a bit unusual but it works when you see them side by side. Overall I painted them close to the studio but added a lot more white to their palette.
INFINITY MERCS: Liang Kai, Wandering Shaolin Monk Interesting model with lots of different textures to paint. Crazy amount of detail on that augmented arm required a fair bit of attention. It's all about that base though giving the model lots of character and a dynamic pose.
