Yeah to go with the established color scheme I'd been doing that color green specifically for deployables (mines, repeaters, etc.) I'd considered maybe having color options for differentiation but since they don't really 'behave' like markers/figures in N4 anymore my first instinct is to keep them consistent with deployables.
@toadchild re: Symbiobug I just saw they were a line-item in the N4 rulebook weapons list. I referenced the "Symbiobomb" and "Symbiomate" from Tohaa Kaeltor Specialists model set for the actual design on the token because I figured it was similar. Funny enough, although the stats for these equipment/weapons seem to exist on Army 7, there actually is NOT a line-item for Symbiobomb in the N4 rulebook that I'm aware of... so who knows what's going on
One thing that crossed my mind when putting together my list of tokens: It would be great if I could order the tokens. That way it would be possible to organize them for double-sided printing. Nothing essential, just a suggestion. Thanks again for this great tool!
Sorry, I should clarify what I meant - in N3, they were a weapon for the Taqeul, but unless there was a data error, they seem to be gone in N4.
But... are you going to print them on two sides of the same sheet of paper? I'd advise against it. They'd end up being - obviously - just paper-thin. I find that difficult to handle, and not comfortable to use at all. At the very moment, I have three test tokens next to me: two glued to a 1mm thick cardboard disc (thank you, heavy-duty craft punch!), and one made with two such discs glued together (so, essentially, 2mm thick).I also tried gluing together just two printout paper discs with tokens on them, as I read your post, and tested a single printout (to simulate non-glued, just printed token)*. The no-cardboard-in-it token is light enough I'm afraid a light draft of air will play merry hell with it. It is also difficult to pick it up from the table. The single-paper-only token doesn't have even the mass of two sheets of paper and the layer of PVA between them. It is so flat on the table I have to pry it under with a figernail. Single cardboard - that's good enough, it has some meat (& mass, so it is not that easily blown away) to it, and picking it up / flipping it over is not a problem. Double cardboard (i.e. 2mm thick) token is even better. Though I guess I'll stick to 1mm ones, as they'll offer me a lot more storage ability (I mean, they're half as thick after all. OTOH, even 2mm is way thinner than the acrylic MAS tokens I used since 2ed). * note: I'm using basic, 80g/m2 office printer paper Mostly because the pinter I have access to right now wouldn't handle anything heavier.
I was going to print double-sided (on cardboard) and then glue them to a transparent acrylic marker. That was only one side would be protected, but that was a compromise I was willing to live with. :D
@toadchild @Lawson Thank you very much for your effort! You did a great job. Would you please be so kind and do it one more time for us? https://assets.infinitythegame.net/downloads/itstokens/all/v1.0/itstokens.pdf
I'll take a look at this one - I might make a separate instance that has just the ITS tokens based off of the official sheet.
My inner designer is screaming at the look of those visibility and saturation zones, lol. May need to do a re-design. Out of curiosity, what do we think the intent of the octagonal form-factor is on those terrain pieces? Is it just incidental? I'm under the impression that a type of terrain can be of any size so presumably the shape and size of these as tokens doesn't matter for gameplay purposes so long as they are visually distinct from player tokens and can be used to mark an area of terrain? I'm trying to think of what would allow the most flexibility in terms of pre-existing mounting solutions (e.g. standard size acrylic bases and whatnot) that could drive the shape of these. One more question - I know the rules for the Classified Objective cards have been tweaked slightly this season based on the new N4 rules. Normally I feel like this wouldn't be too big a deal but it looks like the cards are essentially out of print as well and hard to find. I was thinking of maybe making my own version of the cards if enough people are interested. I will say that the existing cards (unlike the tokens) are very aesthetically good-looking due to the illustrations and I don't think I could replicate that (which is why I'm a bit hesitant) but I also thought maybe no-nonsense smaller format cards (such as 41mm x 63mm size) could be useful and I could just omit the artwork and focus on mostly text-based with a minimum amount of iconography.
I presume that the terrain tokens are meant to be placed on/near marked zones as a reminder plate. Fan cards have been made before - I think @Captain Spud did a set, although I don’t recall if they were updated to the version 2 deck.
I realized I'm running a bit behind on updates. I put in the new 25mm and 40mm foxhole markers, and I'll add the peripherals as soon as I get high quality images from @Lawson.
I went to extract the ITS markers from the PDF, and made the interesting discovery that they're directly embedded vector images rather than pre-rendered raster images. I'll have to use advanced screenshot technology to extract them.
