It's surreal how easily a Dragao or Tikbalang fits into N4 Shock lists. They're just so cheap.

Feels like we have 40 points more to spend on stuff in between the TAG, an Orc or two, the Regular Hacker and the 5 points we shave off on Sensor Minelayer and Fugazis.
    Pure satisfaction.

My old list replaced a warcor and techbee with a... Feuerbach Orc. That's 14 regular orders and one TactAware while not trying to max orders out and taking a lot of high quality active and reactive turn models.

Scylla with EVO HD? Is that the first non-remote EVO?

anyone ran the math whether it's worth grabbing Dragao or Tik if you're aiming to go BRRRR on the enemy ARO and what sticks out? sure visual mods and climb+ are great, but to me it seems that supposedly in TAG/HI heavy meta you'd want a high AP burst weapon.

I think is a mistake, but in the other hand it could be possible the change was intended. The "power up scalation" is high in this new edition. Yes, more mines will keep away the little ones, but the big ones... mines will do pretty much nothing. And yet, we will see in a few days.

For the moment I like what I saw but nothing "astonishing".

Acon was never about being astonishing. It's PanO's workhorse, not as flashy as the likes of NCA or VIRD, but solid and reliable.

Triangulated Fire has a use on the K1 sniper (which I would take against the triple TAG list that has been shown here XDD) for the extreme range (120+, which is essentially corner to corner), or against an enemy in cover at pistol range you want to shoot with the big gun (to save one -3).

Aside from those two specific uses, you can Triangulated Fire against a melee and ignore the -6 per allied troop involved there are no other way to counter. You still can hit your own troopers if you fail (in N3 that would have been prevented), but it's an 11 instead of 8.

Frankly, Teucer could have gotten Marksmanship (ignores cover) and get better mileage, or X-Visor and get the same effect (aside from the melee edge situation)

SWC got fixed too. Oddly enough the 5 point gap is still there, should be more unless Multi Rifles somehow discount the HFT more than a Spitfire.
I'm not really all that sad, the tactical utility of blocking MSV AROs as well is honestly more desirable than MSV tricks in PanO. We can shoot our way through stuff just fine, a chance to safely circumvent an opposing Kamau, setting up our improved CC troops and grabbing objectives unopposed feels more comfortable than a 50/50 chance to set up a MSV of our own.

I think that if you were planning smoke tricks with a BS10 unit that costs 40+ points, you probably have your priorities wrong.

    Yeah, I don't think that's sad.

I'm sad that the worst smoke thrower in the game has been further nerfed and made almost entirely pointless, but it was that before WITH smoke.

    Having Eclipse is better overall.

Must say, at that points level (and given the overall balance within the Sectorial) that Multi Rifle looks tempting.

I'm trying to decide if I like the MULTI Rifle. The issue I have is that it's a great weapon system, but it's not a decisive one. I like it in a Haris team, for example, where you can spend orders on a big gun to close the distance, and then switch to the MULTI Rifle once you're close in; every order expended can contribute to attrition, bring a specialist closer to the enemy, etc. and that really helps with order efficiency. I don't know if ramboing a MULTI Rifle upfield, especially a MULTI Rifle that can't participate in Coordinated Orders and has no deployment benefits, is a good use of Orders. I'm not saying it's bad yet, but I just don't know if I like the MULTI rifle enough to make it a primary recipient of my Orders.

It's probably going to be best in missions where you know there's going to be fighting in a hotly contested area that's not too far from where the GdA will deploy, or if there are missions where you're certain the Eclipse smoke will be pivotal. Acquisition, objective rooms, Supplies, etc are all good environments for the GdA MULTI.

I'm never going to take the GdA MULTI Rifle without another fire superiority piece to do the long range work.

But I can see myself using it alongside something like a Dragao, or Core linked ORC HMG/Feuerbach, to close in and finish what those less aggressive ranged pieces cannot get to.

That's the main problem with the GDA isn't t?
It is a fairly short ranged Fire Superiority piece that hinges on the survival of its very fragile "feature". Take out the bot and you have a slightly different take on an Orc. Cost efficient but doesn't do anything special.
His whole identity is that ARM0 Bot and that's kinda not enough when you're a hackable solo piece that can't link or coordinate, is reliant on HMG support and doesn't bring reliable utility.
Where secondary gunners are concerned he competes with Dart, Singh and SWC Baghs in SAA.
Too close to comfort to a whole lot of things in Vanilla.

This isn't so much a complaint as an observation. He got updated and much cheaper while getting faster, but that's about it he'll have to wait till SAA gets to leave the vault.
