I've been wondering about the AVA 4. I think there could be a fun list like this out there for a killy mission: Basically just hope to go first and pump coordinated orders into the Xeo squad. If you find a good spot, drop into Sup. Fire. using the Tac Aware order. Alternatively there's room for a Noctifer ML for those brave / foolhardy enough to proceed without Dr. Worm.
It didn't work amazingly in N3 (Yes, I ran it at an event), but the power spike on Xeos for N4 certainly makes it attractive.
I remember that, and it seemed hilarious at the time - I don't remember if that was pre-TacAwareness or not
I had one test game of N4 against Military Orders using Onyx. In theory, Xeodron+Nourkias Haris is insanely order-efficient thanks to Suryat. Unfortunately, Xeo got killed on the first turn since he had to overwatch the reserved Peacemaker, otherwise, the entire link team would've gotten killed. I also kinda wish I had picked the MULTI Marksman Xeo instead of Red Fury one. That said, even on his own, Nourkias KHD is a beast. The ability to go into Cybermask allows him to bypass some nasty AROs. WIP 15 Trinity is almost an instakill for anything with one wound. E/M CCW + Protheion with 2 dice allowed him to eat up the Santiago and Sepulchre Knight. I never bothered using Vorpal CCW since, as far as I can tell, it uses your PH instead of CC if you want to throw it. A bit of a shame when you compare it to the Guard skill. Unidrons just overwatch the table and die. If need be, Kerr-Nau is a solid candidate to grab objectives in case everything else in this list fails. Suryat is a nice turn-three killer once Nourkias and the gang are down. Having two extra orders for shooting stuff is always a nice boost and the AP Immunity + Religious makes him an immovable brick in Suppressive Fire mode.
Nice list, i liked it, personaly i would change the RF for the MMR or the K1MR, but B5 is always good. I Don't know if you could do it during the game, but now that Kerr-Nau is a wildcard you could put he inside the Samaritan Haris too =)
Unfortunately, Nourikas counts as a Samaritan for fireteams, but neither he nor a xeodron has the Fireteam: Haris skill. As such, that fireteam is not a legal option.
The post above caused me to just imagine what the world would be like if instead of having a separate weapon profile for vorpal weapons they'd just given Nourkias and Samaritans the Guard skill to represent them throwing it, and now I'm going to have to put off my morning walk until this boner subsides.
The K1 Marksman Rifle Xeodron is amazing against hard targets like TAGs and HIs. Combine him with a Plasma Sniper Overdron, one of the best fire superiority pieces in the entire game, and it'll be easy for him to get into a good range band for anything that he wants to murder. If you're worried about hackers, you can always throw in an E-drone for Fairy Dust, or simply use your own hackers to murder them - which is rather easy due to Onyx's good access to pitchers and tinbot-protected killer hackers in link teams.
