I'm intentionally making this post here and not in the rules forum. This is not a rules question. There have been some changes to Private and Open Information, subtly that Private Information becomes Open when used in a more definitive way. In a way, re-entering a Private state would not necessarily mean you can start denying all knowledge of what's under a Marker. With Holomask being a State that has no real effect other than keeping information from your opponent; why are we even able to re-enter this state? It doesn't allow us to Surprise Attack and it no longer serve a purpose of confound your opponent and it doesn't really interfere with Hacking, either. So; does anyone know the intent of why they let us enter this state or have you found a clever way to use this game mechanic for huge gains?
I don’t recall if you could re-enter holomask state in N2 (yes it was named differently then), but it’s never seemed like something that has a point to me. You spend an order and hope your opponent is forgetful? It’s just not a sensible play.
What Toadchild said. And no, I don't think it was worth keeping in, but I already made that point when HSN3 was in development so CB obviously want to keep it.
