I've been running Corregidor pretty much in full face smash mode. Geckos are beastly. After all, you don't need tricks if they have no orders.
Got any sample lists? I love pain train and light TAG CJC. Beatstick with side order of dirty tricks is my favorite style
Agreed. Geckos are the face-smashing bricks of Corregidor now. Total Immunity Karakuri got you frowning? Not a problem, beshte. We bring the DAM17 Mk12.
I want to try the Sombra a bit and see what it can do as far as opening up pathways or disrupting my opponent. Also, more midfield control. So this is my next list. I can't justify taking any Lt. other than the MB at this point, the EVADER acts as the primary gun in the link, 2 hackers behind a firewall, a paramedic just in case, obligatory Morans, double Gecko to provide roadblocks and murder, and a Sombra to grab objectives/disrupt plans. It could be swapped for the KHD Intruder, or anything else in that price range. The Geckos, MB, Evader, Jazz, and Morans are pretty much the core of any list I build at the moment. And a 3 Gecko variant There are lists that would completely counter my armor advantage, but on the other hand the Geckos are mostly distraction Carnifexes (and wicked ARO Suppression Fire). That EVADER AP Spitfire is scary and can use all sorts of fun angles of attack.
How do you feel about being LI in the current meta? It's not as killer as before, but 15 bodies will still generate a good 18-20 orders
I think LI is fine depending on faction and more importantly unit types. For instance my Druze tend to max out at 15 bodies and get split into two groups of roughly even orders. But that's because with the rework of their fireteams, Wildcards, and addition of Bulleteers brings the average price down while not having a lot of options for more expensive units outside their 2 TAGs and a couple subpar named characters.
Thought on N4 Intruders. They feel a bit left behind by N4 in general BUT: Coordinated order by an Intruder with now swc free panzer Jaguars is potentially devestating to the Intruders natural enemy, the core linked tower ARO. Especially if the Intruder is in smoke and the ARO is MSV less.
This was the Show of Force list I ran at a tournament last weekend, ended up playing into TAK and the sombra won it pretty much single handed, I also ran out of Targeted tokens that match. And this was the other one, lost in looting to another tak player running a heavy camo build and we essentially just bounced off of each other for the most part until vasily was able to breakthrough and tag the objective, while the only thing of mine that made it through was the sombra who went on a murder spree and just refused to die (and were I a smart man I would have remembered that grabbing dcharges on the way in with the sombra was something I could do). In supremacy, went up a vird player, dropped the kamau, they spent the rest of the game bouncing off of the EVAder in a fireteam and the Sombra once again killed everything on it's side of the table pressed buttons and scored zones. EDIT: images broke the first time round so re uploaded
Morans make really good units to put in suppressive fire using a command token. But it requires you to position it in a way that makes it easier to remove. Kind of a hard choice. BSG is nice when you're hiding it because if they do try to face it you get a great shot back.
I like using a turn 1 order 1 coord on them to throw a pair of koalas out into obnoxious spots if at all possible, otherwise it is dropping them into suppressive.
Camo ones with shotguns (marker state DTWs are disgusting) vs less high tech factions, repeaters with combis to suppress and / or just hide on an inconvenient roofs with their repeater is my call so far.
Unrelated I've had a lot of success with the Kanren Holos creating fake hack/DTW zones. Anyways the cost on Moran is so low now that I don't mind using the marker state that way. But there's a few new uses between the profiles to test out I think.
I tended to field one with shotgun and one with combi/FO in N3 just for points, and found that they really complement each other. There's usually chokepoints of different sizes to guard, and the BS is reeeeeally unattractive to try to remove for most opponents, which makes the camo/FO a more tempting target. When playing vanilla, that usually means the FO's path is the one with TO troopers covering it as well. "Suprise, muthafuggas!"
^ I think for 'all comers' a BSG Repeater and a Combi Repeater will be my go-to. Even against 'low tech' factions, Spotlight AROs are boss. It's scary to compare the Moran to a Hardcase with Rifle. That 3pts buys you a lot...
