Only a Trooper has Skills. And nothing in Decoy says a Decoy gets Skills.

And explicitly Decoys replicate State Tokens the user has, but not Skills. They are just Tokens, just for the shell game.

So Flat Out question to answer here then:

Do Decoy Camo markers also incur the mimetism penalty in discover checks the creator of the token has (for example a Spetsnaz)?

I would say they do, because IJW says above the specific MOD value for the Decoy can't be given because it's copied from the troop model.

Ergo, a Decoy of a Mimetism -3 troop has -3 MOD, Decoy of a Mimetism -6 troop has a -6 MOD, and a Decoy of a Camouflage non-Mimetism troop has no MOD at all.

It looks like holo doesn’t get the mimetism just like n3. They are both NFB. The difference with camo is that camo specifically calls out the ability to continue using mimetism even though they are NFB.

Its talking about additional markers like fast pandas, thats why it explicitly states it replicates state tokens.

Theres nothing in there that indicates skills are included.

    Hi!
I would like to clarify - when unit discovers the decoy in camo marker, does the discover only affect the camo marker, or is the decoy marker also considered discovered?

that's why my question arose. Camouflage discovering is considered decoy discovering or not:
    1. discovering the camo marker - the decoy remains on the table - because it was the camo marker that was discovered, and not the decoy marker
    2. discovering the camo marker - the decoy is also considered discovering and is removed from the game

Huh, interesting. Rephrasing your question since it may have been unclear:

A trooper with Decoy but not Camo deploys three copies, represented by a model and two Decoy markers, and secretly notes which of them is real. An opponent can declare Discover against any of them to find out whether it's real. If the Discover succeeds, if the target is not real it will be removed; if it is real, the two copies will be removed.

A trooper with Decoy and Camo deploys three Camo markers, and secretly notes that they are copies and which one is real. The opponent doesn't know that they aren't three separate troopers in Camo state.

If the opponent now Discovers one of the Camo markers, what happens?

    A) The Camo state is cancelled, revealing what's underneath. So I say place Decoy marker and say "this is one of three copies, and may or may not be real." If the opponent now declares a second Discover and discovers the Decoy marker, at that point it is revealed and either it, or the two copies, are removed.

    or

    B) The Camo state and the Decoy state beneath it are simultaneously cancelled by the Discover, so the decoy or the two copies are removed immediately.

    B) Successful use of Discover is a Cancel for both Camo and Decoy. If the "real" model is discovered, Decoy collapses completely and the model loses its Camo marker state at the same time.

Decoy is a Marker state, not a piece of equipment.

If the Camouflage Marker is Discovered, as per the Discovered common skill, the actual Model or the actual Token must be placed where the Marker was. Decoy is a Marker and not a Token so you just remove the Marker and aren't allowed to place anything there in its stead.
Even then, if it were a Token, it has no stats and you'd need to reveal it was fake - but it isn't a Token.

The rules sort of make it sound like the Decoy must replicate the states that Decoy user has.
If I deploy two camouflage markers, say, for Vassily and his decoy, can I choose to make one of them prone and one not prone? Or would the decoy need to replicate the the real Vassily's state at the beginning of the game (e.g. prone if he is prone)?

As I read it, both would need to be prone.
