it turned out that greif operators beside getting cheaper by one point (really excited about that), also now can re-impersonate, as there's no such thing as inferior impersonation, and there's nothing in imp-2 state that prevents you from re-impersonating. oh man oh man, that's great!
Now that i've slept and changes are more solid in my head, i'll say it, i think that Onyx is really fine by now. Lots of solo pieces, nice links and good options. @ijw , i'm gonna bite my tongue and say that Samaritans are ok now with the imm(shock), i guess that my expectations were higher, and that's it. I just wanted to be able to play more games to test all this changes! The only problem is that i can't put everything i want in my lists while staying inside the 300pts bracket

Ive built a few lists around the below Suryat LT2 hmg Kernau Either hrl suryat or kodali Then a small core of Norkias Hmg rhodok Cheap rhodok filler Or even a unidron link if you want more orders, So glad they finally suryats have harris and arent so generic anymore Big cheap links arent normally my thing, but i did make a 17 and 18 order list for a bit of fun, Onyx seems pretty flexible and ive enjoyed making lists for them even more than starco, forco and correg Now i just need to get some tags into losts
Nice catch. Did they have MSV1 in N3? Because I didn't think they did and that seems pretty relevant as well. Budget speculo is a go. Onyx can now do a cheap version of the 'Avatar combo' while keeping fireteams and two noctifers
Man I play a Grief in most lists and that feels like a huge buff to them! I tended to leave them lurking as long as possible as they were one-hit wonders but now they can return to impersonate that's a big deal. Also really excited by the Umbras. I loved the HD+ Legate as a do-it-all piece but he died so easily if you put a foot wrong, or failed a mine dodge. Am I right in saying that Cybermask no longer requires a roll now too? His ability to shore up a unidron core is icing on the cake.
Yeah, vs everything with armor 2+ K1 on the Xeodron is better than dmg15 now, i really can't choose between that K1 or Multi! the Red Fury can be good for the higher burst at least!
Since we can get Fiday'd like everyone else now, it's nice to have some sort of countermeasure I suppose.
Vanguards did get some buffs, but I feel like they still compare poorly to other core troops in CA. Lower WIP was the one weakness of Unidrons, and now they’re suddenly one of the better all-around marker discovery units in the faction.
Can the LT use his orders in links now? That’s great, I think I‘ll give your first link a go in my next game! I also like Red Fury Xeo + Samaritan + Kerr-Nau. B5 for medium-long range, B4 plasma for medium range and the Vorpal for close range - everything covered! CC, too obviously :)
