    According to the program's rules:

    upload_2020-10-4_15-40-44.png

... the trooper can react with it when they have a valid ARO, <or> are targeted with Comms Attack, which suggests that a Wardriver can use it in response to enemy hacker in his ZoC declaring hacking against some other target. However, the effects of Zero Pain only speak about nullifying attacks against its user.

So - can a Wardriver attempt to protect, say, Kosmosoldat, Ratnik, or MULs against enemy hackers? Or can he only protect himself against them? If it's the latter, what is the purpose of creating a hacker whose only action can be to protect himself? Because the only thing that I can think of is some ITS scenario or classified objective which requires a hacker, but that's a really niche application...

its a B2 reset even in aro, with a -3 applied. like most resets, its kinda a trap if you are still in the enemies hacking area, but if you are just having to pass through to get to an objective, its probably worth using.

your interpretation seems to be correct. This program is on models that used to have white / defensive hacking devices. Basically it counts them as a hacker for completing scenario objectives, and gives them a tool to protect against the vulnerability inherent in being a hacker.

I read Zero Pain to just be a better Reset. More dice and a modifier, but you're still only protecting yourself. At least you're allowed to declare it preemptively, which was the main problem with defensive programs in N3.

Yeah, I'd love some clarification here. It feels like it's halfway written to kind of defend an enemy hackable piece, but then sort of ends up not doing that.

Keep in mind that face-to-facing something that isn't affecting you to protect someone else fundamentally goes against what face to face is so if you ever come across a rule that you think might work that way, you need to re-read it until you no longer think it works that way because nothing should work that way.

Best thing about Zero Pain is that it gives them better protection against Jammers. But it requires active usage compared to a passive bonus, like higher BTS for example.

This version of Army is so frustrating for this. Who actually has Zero Pain?

I think it's only Wardrivers so far, but am probably missing one or two units with it.

Potentially more useful for her, the WD and Taaghma don't have any other programs.
