Oh well, could have been fun to give her the CC boost and actually swing that giant sword around for once REM Racers are still super cool though. I like the BTS9 Rudras with the dam 15 multi rifle. Tickles me right
Too bad our Apsara aren't as fun as the new guys. They're cheap orders that provide a noticable boost. Apsara's just way too expensive and who cares about CC15 on a REM
Apsara's 7 points over a REM Racer [+1BS] for set BS13, better WIP, negligible CC boost and a stronger actual Trooper. She's a much better deal for buffing a TR bot or Dakini, or even a Daleth, and unlike a REM Racer she can actually carry a fight against most opposition in the active turn. If you're needing to skimp on points though, or are buffing a Rudra, the REM Racers are the stronger option.
Sorry, don't remember the DTW acronym :( Anyway, the Mk2 was able to perform surprise shots/attacks since Human Sphere N3. Point is, in reactive there is little difference between nanopulser and N4!BSG's template mode; the BSG is a smal teardrop template, B1 damage 14 that rolls against ARM, while the nanopulser is DMG13 small teardrop of B1 that rolls against BTS. There is no Surprise Attack in reactive turn, btw. Apsara: Total reaction's best friend. RemRacer: situational. Look out for the nomad's lunokhod with the CC remracer: CC24 and D-Charges in a remote with perimetrals (koalas, now work like the wildparrots) and repeater... Also, Moderators are CC18 with a PARA(-6) weapon for 6pts! Problem with the Apsaras is the 1SWC cost in vanilla, while in OSS there is no choice. We now have a reason to deploy 2, however (to buff a dakini HMG and a Total Reaction, for example).
Without CoC you’ve basically conceded the game at least. But I’ve won plenty of games after my big guns went silent, just focusing on completing objectives.
3 Netrods an 2 Krakots gives you 5 Veteran units. With the Shukra CoC existing I'd still take one personally, but it's an option.to invest the points somewhere else.
Worth noting that KHD's don't have Shock ammo anymore. The conversation earlier about Netrods going prone gave me a thought. Since they are now troopers there is nothing against you doing a coordinated order and moving them prone that I can tell
Ah, right. I see a possible use against enemies with BS12 or less, to force them to dodge or lose the shot. The Dasyu has a DTW in all profiles, anyway (combi rifle an sniper rifle ones keep the nanopulser). I still see the combi a better (because it's more flexible) option. Damn, I'd swear I saw Trinity with shock ammo somewhere but you are entirely correct. Burst 3 still can one shot the dasyu, though, and I used the Mk2 hacker almost on all my N3 lists as a button pusher because 99% of the times he tried to hack anything with a KHD or H+ device, he ended toasted :S They don't move nor have stats, so I don't see the idea there... I'd need to check, but I think all profiles have a melee weapon now, so they might have removed the unarmed melee option.
given the rapid fire adjustments to Army in the last week I wouldn't be surprised if it actually did show at some point
Has anyone had luck with them in OSS? I'd like a fireteam to back one up, but without smoke the Marut feels kind of off.
The Marut doesn't need smoke to win firefights, it's a BS15 MHMG with MSV2 which already beats most things in the game, putting down smoke first is just going to kill your Order efficiency and doesn't help against Fireteams, who are the biggest ARO threats. Even if you lose a F2F you've ARM 8 with STR3 and some of the best engineers in the game to back it up. On a trooper as powerful as the Marut the MSV is far more useful for denying the enemy use of smoke and for ignoring Mimetism.
That's true. I've had some luck on the reactive turn doing a couple Myrmidon smoke dodges and then still being able to cover those lanes with a Marut from behind them, but that's definitely not an every-game thing. Might give one a shot with a Dakini core link later.
