I am really curious about the armylist. Will we lose any profiles from the current JSA list? Will we get new profiles apart from the ones in the box? Will the current profiles change? Exciting times ahead.
Why would anyone, ever, want to follow the path of bushido? Its just masochism, and katanas are a terrible weapon. A Mosin would cut a katana in half. Soviet Stalinium, folded exactly once by unpaid underage workers, loaded with glorious socialism, that is a real weapon. And the Yu Jing knockoff ain't much worse all things considered, so it'll do as a substitute.
So what are the chances of finally getting updated profiles for the old Dire Foes characters in the new book? If that happened I'd be so happy.
I'm back.....Love the new set, and can honestly say I am so glad they finally are splitting of JSA. Now I need to buy a lot to catch up.
As you can see from responses, you've managed to stoke the fire, and if you've read the past 10 pages of this topic you'll know we've already been through this cycle at least once. What's missing atm is finding out what the future holds for Yu Jing with the Japanese traitors gone - and I don't mean story, I mean figure releases. And no, they didn't make the split because JSA units weren't used much, because a limited amount of them were used in nigh on all vanilla lists, I suspect this is story and identity reasons. Which is fine if you also communicate what's in store for the faction you take them away from, and that's missing.
Are Brawlers exclusively Druze troops or do you think they will also be available for other Merc armies? Given that it is an exclusive miniature for the book, would be a bit strange if they could only be used in Druze lists.
The exclusive minis have rarely seemed to be stuff that's universally useful, see Druze hacker, Joan, Crane agent, Yuan Yuan. CB seem to follow their hearts and rule of cool so if you want to use it outside of Druze you'll probably need to proxy.
personally I wouldn't be surprised if they are available in other less reputable NA2 armies...I don't see KTS using them as they have a code but other Merc companies who knows.
If I recall correctly it was said that "the book" CB release this year will have all "old" dire foes stories&missions (and profiles?) in it (stories&missions were supposed to be rewritten a bit). Also Dire Foes missions "stories" are supposed to be connected and create bigger narrative ;)
This guy does. As a matter of fact, he thinks that it is such a good idea that he brought TWO Katanas to the firefight. One is for chopping arrowsbullets aimed at him out of the air, and the other is for chopping up poorly armored, poorly trained peasant levies-- especially those who mock his hat, or his unusually small codpiece. Or for chopping up deli meats. (search for Samurai Delicatessen to get the reference.)
