The only thing the multirifle has that the HMG doesn't is a lieuenant option (don't do it!!!), the tinbot, and a heavy riotstopper.
Does anybody else find the lack of camo a bit disappointing? I am not saying that O 12 should get a lot of camo, I am saying that maybe O 12 should get some in Starmada or have a new unit in N4 that gets it. As it is our only camo infiltrating specialist is exspensive (looking at you Razor).
I think that's an intentional part of the faction design. Btw, the Omega have Heavy Riotstoppers, not light as was written above.
O-12 has a pretty solid midfield presence. Between the Razor, Madtrap Gangbusters, and Team Serious you can get a really handy mix of specialist, utility, and aggressive profiles. Camo infiltrators are a good meta pick because they generally hit a sweet spot of cost and utility, but sometimes it's good to have a faction that does things differently.
There is the also the lynx, though not infiltrating surprise shot and odd with a sniper is nice to have. Given the amount of other options 0-12 has, especially adhesive weapons like the riot stopper, and minemitism being widely availiable, I am not surprised we are lacking in camo units. I am very happy that we got two of them, even if only one is an infiltrator. The models also look awesome can't wait to get them.
I am actually trying out the miltirifle version on Wednesday. I went for the forward observers profile as it is a specialist in our planned scenario, and I have a Milicent copperpod with guided missiles so I am hoping to experiment with the omega putting heavy units into targeted state. Not sure if it will work but fun to try.
Anyone know if the Alpha’s inclusion in Starmada is correct? It’s not on the Sectorial chart but is in the app.
Would be interesting to know for sure, since taking Saladin is useless when you can get an Alpha, but taking out the Alpha might make Saladin a little more useful in Starmada.
Because an Alpha gives you the same strategos 1 at 10 points less and is less vulnerable to assasins. He can even kick ass in melee if you want to make some combat use. Saladin offers little to contest an Alpha, specially with Cho available as well.
Saladin is in a weak spot right now. He's actually bested by Alpha in vanilla and Hector in Starmada. Beeing a Repeater open to some interesting choice, however...
I coulda sworn that he did in the Starmada preview week lol. Saladin and Cho both in an awkward spot as solo LT pieces that can't easily defend themselves. I suppose Saladin has it slightly better there as his repeater offers some protection from the likes of HI rambos or garudas or similar.
