If they asked anyone in the forum which Daofei should have been in Beyond Red Veil, they would have heard the hacker or the spitfire. Instead, we make peace with our suboptimal profile, learn to use it and appreciate what it offers, and then they delete it for no material gain other than to depreciate what people already have.
You can discontinue production of a mini without removing the profile, nobody is complaining about removing it from production it's the profile getting axed for no real reason which is annoying people. There are plenty of profiles with no miniatures that represent them so it's no issue if it just stays as a profile without a corresponding model. Basically the argument boils down to stop selling me shit then fuckin' deleting it because that's annoying.
Do we need to axe the profile for balance reasons? Sure, then for the health of the game it needs to go. Is the profile not causing problems, has a miniature that players are actively using? Then leave it the fuck alone, it's not hurting anything by existing and it's just gonna annoy people if you remove it.
I'm fine with proxying the HMG as a Spitfire but I feel bad for those that don't like it. I also feel bad for anyone that's new and buys the Beyond Red Veil box set and finds the HMG is no longer "usable". CB doesn't have it in their store but there's plenty of places that still have it. I just looked at on Friday at my LFGS.
Because the complaining is pointless. CB isn't going to apologize. They aren't going to reverse the decision. Your options are literally to just shelve the miniature or proxy it as something else. The tiger multi sniper was one of my favorite profiles and I kit bashed my own custom model for it and it's no longer available. It sucks but it is what is. I can clip the barrel and say it's a combi or multi rifle now or use him as a merc sniper. I have options.
so as long as people use a profile, they can never change/remove it? if not for balance? even tho its almost never used?
Yes, for N3 era sculpts they should prioritise giving profiles that work to models which exist. If there is redundancy between the Spitfire and HMG sculpt they could use an ounce of creative energy to give the HMG profile an extra piece of gear to make it an actual choice. Was the extra line in the Daofei profile hurting anyone even a fraction as much as it's absence? It's not like anyone had complained that the Daofei entry was bloated.
yes, you are saying its okei to axe a profile if its for balance. so no other reason should any profile ever be removed? is what am asking. a extra profile which is rarly used, cant be removed then? as thats where i disagree. then its sorta just taking place for almost no reason? and we will end up with lots of "useless profiles" around, because a couple of people want to test it out in a game or 2 each year?
No, because there are miniatures released for them recently that people paid money for. Honestly, it's not so hard to understand unless you just like being contrary or trolling.
Yes, and what's wrong with having those profiles around? People like them enough to use them. It costs us nothing to have them, they have minimal impact on game balance. Deleting them has no upsides it just happens to piss some people off.
its not as much as hurting anyone, but where do you say stop? should they leave in every profile forever? if they can never make these changes. how can the game grow? only improve on profiles? but never change their main weapon they got as a miniature?
by no means am I trolling, but this Daofei HMG. its 3 years old I think we found out? when you have bought it. when do you feel you gotten your use out of it? you built it, painted it. lets say used it for 50 games the last 3 years. have you gotten your money worth back? or do you have to use it for 5 years? when can you say to yourself. this purchase was worth it? even if its removed as a profile.
thank you for a clear answer, this is what I wanted from you Triumph. not a read between the lines answer.
What's your answer for this? When do we remove them? Want a list of all the miniatures older than 3 years that HAVEN'T been removed? There are reasons not to remove them and no reasons to do it.
There's always been a problem of profiles without models that we have learned to live with, and I am full of admiration for those who dare to convert WYSIWYG. Models without profiles is an unwelcome problem.
