15 order limit kills USAR

    I've spent most of my afternoon going through the new army builder trying to make an army that actually works with the new rules.

    Nothing works.

    I'm either short on midfield presence for scoring

    Short on firepower

    Or lacking in camo shell game.

    If N4 goes live with this bullshit I'm done with this game. They won't get a penny of my money.

    I agree with your points, and I think it's a complete shame what's happened with the sectorial. I do feel compelled to point out N4 is already live though.

    Is the new Devil Dog not good enough, I'd take it. But hey, hey, mid field presence, has anyone looked at the Infiltrating Grunt, it doesn't say inferior Infiltration, it just says Infiltration PH=8. I'm pretty sure that means that you can mad out .5 SWC on tons of Grunts up the table...

    Maybe swap out a grunt for a hardcase for a little extra marker coverage...

    Also I have no experience with USARF but if I'm right about the Infiltration rule on the Grunt, I'd say they have the most Midfield presence in the game now. Them not having Camo is neither here nor there cause arent Grunts expendable?

    Can anyone use that code, I'm having trouble with the APP.

    Army code doesn't work for me to import in the new army builder.

    The point I was making is that unlike in N3, with the 15 model limit, you can't bring a good mix of firepower, camo shenanigans, and midrange field control. You're always going to come up short somewhere.

    Or you're going to be at 15 models and ~260 points.

    If they had buffed a bunch of our stuff but also upped the point cost, that would have been fine. But they didn't. They made some stuff cheaper, some stuff more expensive, but only like 3 things actually got buffed, and several things got nerfed.

    Point out to me what I'm lacking.
    Firepower-got TONS
    Camo- has never been USARF's game however there is a small one here if you set up correctly
    Midfield presence- foxtrots, hardcase are already there. Maverick and Devildog are fast as hell and can get there too easy.
    On top of all this i still have 16 orders. Where is this list lacking?

    Okay Army PDF and all that shit still has lots of bugs to work out. But try this list I'm gonna type out.

    Please read notes, again, I don't play USARF but I would want to try and see if I can make this work at least with 3 games because I like how it looks and

    1st Group
    5th AP HMG Lt (Initial Gunman)
    Lone Ap Spitfire (Switch to once in Range)
    Rosie (2nd Defense)
    Bill Contender (Primary Defense for the team but really, don't leave the team visible till you have to and start with him cause he has the best ARO, swap things around a little to give him the Rifle and put him in sup fire, he will always be throwing 10s or better under 16 inches)
    2x Grunt HFT (to rebuild the link if necessary)
    Fox FO
    Van
    112 Moto
    DD HSG (Reliable Smoke and Sensor)

    2nd Group
    3x Grunt Infiltrate (Disposable AF)
    Fox FO

    While i'm not happy how USARF N4 ended up it's still possible to build somewhat decent Lists with only 15 Models...

    The only thing i'm struggling at the Moment is to find a way to include Desperados. How the Heck can i take two or three of these glorious bastards when i don't have the more expensive Models to use the freed Points from 6P Desperado?

    I am not linking the change since USARF was billed as the 'trade up and win through attrition' faction and when we are par for bodies it doesn't do that so well. Still, I have been messing with army builder to see what we can do.

    I think we drop Grunts entirely. A marauder core does the same role but with much heavier weapons and can go active with FD, 4-4 and the UKR as point man. I built this as basic template (things need to move groups still) to test the versatility. A lot of templates. USARF 15.png

    You have the midfield presence and the camo, you lack the heavy firepower.

    And you also lack order efficiency. Like when I look at my best N3 lists, the ones I was able to win my local ITS tournaments with, or at least come close, they're not a list like that. They were lists like this:

    Notice a theme? I have multiple fireteams, a blackjack or two for heavy fire support, enough camo markers to force the enemy to waste orders dealing with them, AND plenty of button pushers.

    You just can't do that with the new army builder. With the 15 model limit, SOMETHING has to give.

    Well, i've never been a good player and no matter how much i tried, i couldn't get 18+ lists to work... always had more success with "unordinary" USARF, but i understand that tactical window is bad for nearly every one else playing USARF/Ariadna...

    I used to play 17-18 orders but I haven't been having issues with 15. And that's with loading up on the new desparados and non-rolling flamethrower infiltrators who are disgustingly cheap and broken too!

    UNR is so good he's mandantory!

    The new cheaper dogs are great and cheap. Take 2!

    Or maybe a marauder core rather than grunts. I think you'll find 15 orders will fill up... maybe not as fast as other factions but it happens and you can still do it with 20ish wounds and total orders including tacawareness/impetuous without issue.

    The only disappointing point for me is blackjack. I just painted one in preparation for N4 but he probably won't get tabletime...

    I mean in terms of the list you posted, the biggest issue I see is that other than the two mavericks, all your heavy firepower is tied down in the marauder fireteam. It is a VERY scary fireteam, but once it starts taking casualties, the efficacy of your list on the field begins to severely degrade.

    Yea, this sums up how i experienced the N3 Version of this List, and that was with a more regular Marauder fireteam. It worked for me most of the time but games can go 6 feet under pretty easy and pretty fast.
