Just in case people aren't aware the Long Ya's burst bonus doesn't work in ARO. You fire the Flammenspeers and Panzerfausts at B1 in ARO.
Sun 2 miss flash pulse, if it's not a bug. So now, exept LT roll, his amazing 17th wip is only for discover, lol. Still not cost his points. Very sad. Like the miniature and the concept, but totaly no desire to bring him to the table
Not directly a buff, but found FD Hulang to be shining new light as mid table ARO piece dew to option to start the game in supressive fire.
I wouldn't say "nothing". A price drop of 4, maintained functionality except the minelayer now has to be payed for, but on the other hand gained a template. These large camouflage markers can now hold Fireteams to ransom nicely.
The Combi+LFT gets FD as well. Bringing a Koala is another perk, of course, but a flamer is not bad to have either. A points discount of 3 + the addition of ODD is a decent deal for the Hulang.
I am searching for reasons to take the Combi+LFT over SMG Koalas as a soloist and it seems to be a case of anything one can do the other can do better.
Koala loadout has no DTW, so no way of using intuitive attack against camo skirmishers. That and Combi Rifle has better rangebands outside of SF. Other than that, SMG still rules due to B and ammo choice and Koala is a nice little addition.
I haven't been able to go through much of the rules but I was playing around with armies on my phone while I was out yesterday. I like the new Army Mobile BTW. I just wish I could make the icons and some text smaller. For the most part I'm positive. ISS Happy with: Wow I think I might need to do ISS again. I'm really surprised by the inclusion of Devas and able to take 3 and even haris with Dakini. That's huge I think. A Garuda FO is huge I think. Su Jian is still fantastic I think and now more so. Xi Zhuan is still great for the price. I want more guys like that! Wu Ming Haris!! Crane Wildcards!! (They can mix with Wu Ming which is very cool!) Zhanying I already liked but now I think they are even better. Being able to take more than one in a team of Wu Ming is awesome. Miranda looses breaker but gains Multi. So not bad at all. Disappointed but still good: I don't understand why they made Adil like a worse Crane but he's still not bad. I wish he had MA L3 and DA CCW instead. But it's not bad. L3 is wasted on anything over Level 2 because you can't had Dmg to the Mono weapon. I'm glad the Non-sniper Bao got a price reduction, they might see table time, but I'm disappointed they didn't get more weapon options and a specialist. I'm also disappointed they can no longer do a Core team. Pheasant is much better price wise but only MA L1? I guess it brought the price down. But a Tactical Awareness Red Fury! they still need to compete with other great troops but much better I think.\ Crane move 4-4. They get really good at CC but can't get in very fast. Not actually sure how I feel about Lunah not having her Marksmanship LX anymore. I liked it. Not happy with: The price of Lu Duan and Rui Shi going up. (But really not that bad) Loosing Pheasant sniper. he was the one good profile before. Invincible Army Happy with: Guijia is now cool!! I'm really glad for the Martial Arts, Super Jump, and Duo. Haidao now being able to have any number in a team is awesome. I may not take more than one but it's nice to have the flexibility. Krit got good I think. The Heavy Shotgun is awesome but I think I'd take him in Vanilla. The Feuerbach looks a lot better to me now. Disappointed but still good: I'm liking the Shang Ji more that before but I still can't find a reason to take them over other things like the Zuyong. Hell, a Mowang is not much more of an investment and is much better. But again it's my only one or two options I like, the AP HMG and the FO. Hulang got better but there's still something about them that puts me off. Especially in IA. for 41pts I'd almost rather Krit with his minelaying over a Hulang. I am thinking a Duo of Hulang and Krit might be cool though. Still, he's really expensive for ARM3, 1W+NWI. I certainly can't see taking the FTO in a fireteam. Sure he has Mim-6 and then team bonus but it's only a SMG or Multi-Rifle. I'd be all in if it was a Red Fury or Spitfire. Cheong is cool but I can't see taking him over a Haidao ENG in a fireteam. He's pretty cool for Vanilla though. Happy with: I wish they had added some options to the Zhencha but that's about it. White Banner Happy with: Blue Wolf getting much cheaper is great. Long Ya is fantastic both here and Vanilla Disappointed : Sadly I'm mostly disappointed with White Banner. The fireteams are too restrictive and not interesting. Ye Mao would be great if they could do a Core or Wildcard. Jujak are still stuck with a Shang Ji even though Shang Ji got better but I'd like to just take Jujak. AVA4 Zhanshi still irks me because you must have a wildcard to keep the link going or have some extra waiting to join up. Vanilla I think Vanilla came out really well. Cheaper on so many things. It's going to be just harder to pick stuff! Things that stand out: Krit Minelayer Liberto even cheaper ABH changed to AVA 3 Knauf +1 B to his MSR is awesome Yaofang looks great Now having said I feel more positives than not, I have yet to read most of the rules and have not looked at the other armies yet.
I didn't see anyone mention it yet so here it goes: Long Ya don't have Mimetism. I don't think it's actually better now, the minelayer actually costs SWC as well.
Good catch. I didn't see that. I think at 16 or 17 pts it's still pretty good. I'm sure mimetisim would have pushed the price up. At least it's not limited Camo. you can spend and order to go back into it.
But its cheaper and got a blast shot. The Swc tax i have found no big deal in N4 so far, with most other swc going down. I still think its a bargain.
Wow, I feel ashamed in missing the fact it doesn’t have Mimetism. I guess that explains the price drop?
Invincible Army has some seriously improved hacking game now. Cheong as a non-hackable repeater that can tag along with any of our vulnerable attack pieces. Pair that with a KHD Haidao in a link with a tinbot and you've some serious deterrence. Sure the opponent might suicide brick your Guijia/Mowang, but you've got the engineer there to fix them. And Krit can provide a deployable repeater 20" up the board for our camo hackers. The prevalence of Tinbot (-6) means nearly any core, Haris, duo can be pretty well defended now. I'm excited all in all.
The new madtraps are way stronger now. They're a very powerful offensive piece. You can use them to glue people in the active turn up to 16" away, which is a practical death sentence.
