The 3D sculpts are always a touch on the chunky size to compensate for the shrinkage that happens making the metal masters, then the rubber moulds, then the pewter miniatures themselves.
Huh. That new Cutter gets me to considering on playing ”Cutter lists”... Gotta have a good basic lists of Varuna first... (On other non-related note in Varuna topic, because someon mention Böyg... I would really like to see that ”dual feuerbach Karhu”)
Gameplay wise that's a hype sculpt considering it has a sidearm in its gauntlet. Tastes may vary on design (I do like it) but that's pretty huge.
Since both guantlets have those ports, I assume they're a fluff sculpt representing the Cutter's underwater propulsion system. He'd "fly" through the water Superman-style with his arms out in front of him. I'd love to be wrong though, and see the cutter get a close-range weapon.
Judging by the fin positioning on the ankles, and the thruster direction in the 3D sculpt plus the water intake on the hips he actually swims in some kind of T-Pose Depending on the person I'm sure that either permanently ruins the model for them or makes it infinitely better.
Found a Dossier for the new Cutter (with only MHMG). So I guess these things are just water jets to maeauver after all. They do however still look very familiar to whatever the ITS Jotum has in its shield, so we might be looking at the first small sculpting accident (heh, at least the fins should cease to be a problem now).
Maybe they used the same "base" in order to do it and spare some heavy work? The good and the bad of 3D modeling... :) Stilll it will be great the Cutter gets something to shoot in a closer range. Loose the HFT and spare only 2 ponts, plus +0.5 CAP plus range weapon change do nothing good with him. Too expensive in CAP and Points. But, we will see N4, the "TAG Edition"?
If it gives you any false hope the dossier for the Raicho resculpt didn't list the Heavy Flamethrower, Vulkan Shotgun, or Mine dispenser.
It gives me none. Corvus let in the pass really clear they don't want heavy flame thrower in "TO units", but CA, of course XD. But being a little serious about it, with the actual template game, maybe is time to put that weapon again in Cutter's hands. Don't forget that now the only malus comes from the "surpresive attack", when in N2 it puts a -6 and you could shoot only if you survives. To remove this weapon from the cutter it was a step too far in order to "put some balance" in TAGs. A case when you "downgrade too much". Still, if no heavy flame thrower, the reduction in cost could be more than enought to bring back the cutter in GAME.
Still don't think the Cutter should regain his HFT. But I'd definitely say a Pulzar or B2 Nanopulser isn't out of the question or unthematic. And if nothing changes, as nasty as the Cutter is the Squalo Zapper is probably my favorite Heavy TAG in price/performance and he's about to get a price cut.
Hi Team. I'll be updating this article as quickly as possible, to reflect the N4 ruleset and Army changes. The NCA and Shock articles will have to wait, of course, until we have their full update in November. There will certainly be some good discussion once we see the Army update drop, and I look forward to learning/sharing with you all.
Is it me, or does Patsy lost the "counts as an ORC for fireteams composition" sentence on her profile? Does this mean we can now have her back with her pals Kamau HMG and Machinist?
I know, I just feel Patsy its overall better than a Kamau right now :) Problem was, after the FAQs, Patsy counted as an Orc for fireteam composition, so the machinist no longer could join her haris.
Which doesn't matter because the Kamau HMG now has the FT:Haris skill and can form the team that the Machinist and Patsy can join.
