Hard to imagine a successful list that doesn't field 2-3 strong sources of high Burst AP.

Where are you seeing these? Those are all great changes though TBH.

There was a leak of the Army 7 beta with updated profiles, although we don’t know how accurate or complete they were.

Yeah things are still up in the air since the leaks seem to be legit, but from a very old beta of Army 7 so a lot of profiles have errors and such. So a good chance lots of things will change once the official version comes out and gets cleaned up over the next few weeks.

The other big things I noticed though was the Devil Dogs getting 9 pts cheaper, and getting +1 CC; I'm way more willing to field one now. The Grunt Sniper lost MMRX (Marksmanship in general seems to be completely un-nested), and instead had a straight +3 BS, which is interesting - makes them even better on the defensive. Blackjack AP HMG also went down to 1.5 SWC, but cost a few more points than before. Oh, and Maverick FO no longer costs 0.5 SWC, which is real nice - though the 112 Motorized no longer cost SWC either, so now we have two choices for fast specialists that don't cost SWC.

Either way, it does seem to be looking up for USA, thankfully. Nothing too dramatic except for UKR (who needed it most, to be honest), but little tweaks and bumps here and there. Can't wait for Friday.

If any of those are even close to true on the Maverick FO or 112, it is really going to free up list building possibilities for USARF.

Could have been anyone - so many barbeques going on around these parts.

And oh my lord, does the Unknown Ranger SLAP now. They made sure to kill that meme for good.

Thank glob! I painted him up in Captain America colors, complete with round shield, and it was disheartening seeing him get wreaked so often or just generally not pull his unit cost. Now I might have to paint up the Spitfire loadout as a different character cause that is going to straight up murder in a very not superhero way.

Paint him up as The Punisher. Maybe do the Captain America Punisher version just to follow the joke.

I converted the GenCon version as Cap and the motolok as The Punisher. I'm thinking I might make a spitfire release into USAgent if the Disney+ show goes how I think it's going to. I also made the general release Van Zant into the Winter Soldier and the GenCon one into Wolverine for extra Van Zant shuffle ridiculousness. USAriadna kinda sent me down a conversion rabbit hole.

Unknown Ranger is amazing now. I loved him before but now he's gonna be beastly. Too bad they shit all over the rest of the faction.

grunt snipers are garbage now LX for +1 damage is terrible

probably an error but Airborne Rangers are missing. [but got a little CC buff in vanillia]

minuteman are still unusably awful expect for the HMG in a grunt link, don't know why everyone got buffed heavy infantry and nwi everywhere but these guys got skipped. but they got a heavy pistol so they're clearly better. NCO and advanced command are slaps in the face

Marauders got a +1 burst sniper

Blackjack got a little swc adjustment but got more expensive. they also can't dodge anymore

Van Zant got NCO and a CC buff, but now many other units have his signature skill

Devil Dog got much cheaper, better at CC and the new shotgun rules make the heavy shotgun very scary
    Desperados are ludicrously cheap

it's such a mixed bag. if they didn't have the 15 order limit all of this would have been a huge buff. Now I'm not as sure where to go. I think they are gonna struggle in N4. They really struggle with staying power without any effective HI option. I'm gonna have to play some games and see where they are. But my positivity about the future has been hard stifled

It’s an AP Sniper, but there’s a bug in Army.

This is the disappointing part. The 15 order window really restricts the faction that has next to no elite options. Like yea there are buffs, but I feel like other changes just don't make sense and they don't understand the faction.

DD and UKR are great changes. Rosie speeding up to match Marauders is nice as well since she can go everywhere as a wildcard.

BJ wasn't really particularly powerful so I don't really see the logic for the minor nerf. Mavericks are now way worse than Dynamos and completely outclassed by desperados. Both of these look like oversights due to just following their math formula and nothing thinking things through. Not sure why Van Zant got cheaper and better, he still makes the Molotok Airborne Ranger useless.

The MM thing is ridiculous and I really can't believe that would do nothing about it. Its one of the most worthless profiles in the faction if not the game and instead of doing anything they just buffed Marauders up again. Its like did they even play test anything? Is there a corner of spain where all the USARF players just spam MM over and over :joy:.

The desperado thing is the same thing honestly. At 13 point the 2 AP assault pistol was probably on of the strongest attack pieces in the game for its cost. Now its 6 points and yet somehow still the same as the 2 HP variant? The 2AP variant has like 15% more change to cause a wound on nearly every target type and way more change to score a hit. Its OP as hell now.

Overall i feel like we will still have to rely on characters and the same core units. I suppose its still nice that the DD and UKR will at least finally get off the shelf.

Mavericks get to see through their own Smoke (especially good on the Boarding Shotgun option), gained a point of Damage on their 'Molotok' and the AP Spitfire halved in SWC.

Dyanmos got all the same buffs. Dogged and reduced price is a lot better than just having MSV. 12 points for 2 dual AP desperadoes is better than either option. It isn't about the Maverick being terrible its about it making no sense to use due to the internal balance issue.

Did Desperado get a specialist profile?

Did they get a Molotok/AP Spitfire?

Did they get MSV for hunting skirmishers?

Because those are the 3 things I brought Mavericks for.

How did Dynamos get a buff to an item they don't have? I'm confused. :-(

And Desperadoes use up one of your possible slots for a Regular Order, while depending on Smoke that's much less reliable in N4.

I'm not seeing smoke on the Mavericks in the Android app, is this a bug?

Yes. They still have Smoke Grenade Launchers, but there's a bug where weapons on Mounted profiles aren't being shown in the app. Mike is aware of this.
