Molotoks and AP Spitfires, sure, it’s just a point of Damage. Red Furies, on the other hand, have range bands that are altered enough that you can use them differently on the tabletop than a Spitfire. I’ve had a bunch of successful long range shootouts using a Xeodron Red Fury to ‘outrange’ enemy HMGs by putting both weapons on -3, which simply wouldn’t be viable with a Spitfire.
Red Fury's -3 band is 24-40" rather than 24-32" of a Spitfire/Molly. Better than N2 though where Molotoks were just Spitfires with worse range bands.
Absolutely not a'propos, but searching for some song to punctuate the release of N4, I ran into that lil' gem that - I guess - will make you Kosmoflot guys pee yourselves with joy :) I find it absolutely fitting: Have fun :)
I already have a question. Do the Rokot with (infiltration [=8]) have to deploy using infilitration ? If so, do they have to make a phys check if they infilitrate in their half of the table ? Basically, does it work the way inferior infiltration used to ?
Inferior Infiltration doesn’t exist. So they can choose whether to infiltrate, and where to infiltrate. Much too freaking cheap. :-(
That's why I was expecting it to be like "If you infiltrate you have to make a phys -3 check". But I couldn't find that in the rule book.
Pretty sure this is a bug. The Inspiring Leadership rules in the N4 rules annex pdf state that it still requires that unit to be Lieutenant for the rule to kick in. Would be very surprised if Wallace didn't have an LT option. Also - Equipe Mirage 5 have parachutist: dep. zone. That's what used to be Tactical Jump in N3. ...anyone else looking forward to Van-Zant-Shuffling with a freakin' werewolf?
I feel weird about Wallace being in Kosmofłot in the first place, he's about the last person I'd like to have around on a spaceship...
Heck yeah! The Van Zant Shuffle is literally what got me to pick Ariadna. The more the better. Fair. Things didn't go particularly well for him when he left or was taken from Scotland. I'll take it though, as long as we're getting a new sculpt.
Anyone else notice that Kosomodats do not have BS (+1 B) in their profile? Is that a typo? The unit seems to still cost the same as if it had that in its profile. I hope its a typo because the unit sucks without that.
in fairness it was more the landing on dawn that did it. You're supposed to bend your knees and roll to the side, not headbutt the planet... The rifle has +1b and the hmg +1 dam for me. I find that acceptable.
Kosomodats can't be part of a link bigger than Duo, so they kind of suck. Volkolaks can get fireteam bonuses making them better. +1 Dam does not make up for the lost burst and BS.
Fireteam access isn't everything, Kosmosoldat is a very solid single firepower base. That guy sports as much ARM as a light TAG.
