We're just totally ignoring shock immunity? They gained a lot, and went up in cost, but I'm still going to miss the versatility. I have a hard time justifying the infiltration version when I can't just AD it whenever I go second.
So they have Bioimmunity, but I don’t believe that functions the same in N4. Many other units such as the Namurr have both Shock Immunity and Bioimmunity. The same goes for the Liu Xing just having shock now. Also remember that viral no longer exists as it will just be DA+Shock vs BTS.
It's true that we don't know for sure, but we can make some pretty solid guesses. CC23 is straightforward enough. Natural born warrior could just be something about negating CC skills. It may also be a holdover from N3 (the leak had a lot of errors) but there are profiles with it that don't in N3, so that seems unlikely to me. The martial arts table should be the same as code one. If that's the case *and* NBW cancels skills, that's a very strong combination. Berserk +3 is also probably more or less how berserk works in N3, but with a +3 instead of a +6. Now, the immunities? Those are an absolute mess with little information to be gleaned.
If the skills dont change much, I am also pretty sure we get a max of two like with the second Maggie profile. But the ridiculousness of such a profile in N3 terms is quite funny to think about.
Clearly stuff is off with this profile, but if this is an indication of where they want to take the Zhayedan I am all for it.
Having both Automedikit and regen makes it pretty clear that's not a finalised profile. MM2 on all profiles, and MM1 on the BSG/Doc and HMG is pretty cool though.
It really depends how Marksmanship, Regen and Veteran turn out to be. From my POV the Mukhtar are still superior as a link. But a single HMG will be finding the way in my lists...okay, the ML is pretty intriguing to...hmm maybe as a 3 man Core then... But I will miss the Breaker-Shock interaction. That was awesome from time to time.
My guess would be that it was exactly why the Breaker Rifle is not paired with Shock Attack in this particular iteration of profile development. It was simply too complicated to keep it in the streamlined era of N4: a BTS-saving weapon (Breaker) that at the same time was making additional ARM-saving attack (Shock)? Way too much shenanigans to keep.
Plasma is it's own ammo type, compared to a weird rules combination between two different ammo types that is on very few profiles. From my experience the breaker + shock would confuse new players who got Red Veil back in the day. I don't mind losing it as the Zhayedan as a core are better overall now. Seriously can't wait to run them assuming the leak is even half accurate.
I beg to differ - I agree with @Freebootas here. Plasma, being an ammo type on its own (and as such requiring "ARM + BTS save" clearly described in the ammo description) is different in perception form Breaker Rifle (requiring BTS save) plus Marksmanship/BS Shock Attack calling for an ARM save. Of course, I'm arguing for argument's sake only - whatever we say or do here will have no effect on what we're going to see in N4 in less than a week.
Plasma in the graphic is not an "ammo type", it's a specific weapon that has an effect as displayed. Part of my point is that it can be done just like it was done with plasma. Another part was that we should try to avoid getting ourselves caught in nomenclature traps. The last part is I regret getting involved with a profile that is interim at best, and outright fabrication at worst. The only one I have the remotest interest in is the sniper and that'll be proxied in a heartbeat. :D
I understand fireteams are having their own ruleset coming out alongside the main rules, I'm also aware of the leaks being unconfirmed, but is there a reason why the AVA for units like Zhayedan are 3 instead of 5 etc please?
Appreciated, thank you! I thought that might be the case (as with the HB profiles where they show vanilla AVA), but I wouldn't have expected to see the Haris fireteam option in a Vanilla unit (I'm not up to date with all the revealed changes by any means). If the leaks are an indication of their potential, I feel even better about purchasing them (great models)!
Assuming that what we have is accurate, that's a very expensive core. I'm not saying it isnt worth it, but even with Leila, you're spending almost half your points there. They can haris, but they're competing with Mukhtar for that slot. I would say they do very different things, though. Another option is to take them in conjunction with Mukhtar, as two teams of 3. I'm not sure how I'd want to run them, but there are a lot of options to consider.
ARM2+, pretty much, and they can do some Classified objectives. You can't really count on Unit Classification meaning much any more, since CB are as fond of breaking their own rules nowadays as the English language is.
