I actually wouldn't change the profiles, I think they're nicely rounded with good options, I'm just hoping that the N4 pricing structure reduces the cost of their BTS by a couple of points. Things like "add Minelayer" or "give them a DTW" would undoubtedly make them better, but they'd make any trooper better so it's boring. Having the Blitzen isn't just for ARO but also as a linked burst 2 anti-TAG/HI, same with the ADHL.
After about 15 games, 2 tournements (1st/12 players and 3/16 players) here is my thoughts on dahshat compagny. with the same list.1 minor defeat the rest of victory. I really love to play with them, they are flexible, have many orders and have some HI mix very nice. But clearly the faction is unbalanced. It’s the first time I must admit in Infinity, moreover on a faction I play. It’s Infinity Strengh to be balanced from my point of view. Problem is : first turn is way too deadly. I explain : my list is 20 figs and 23 orders 15 regulars 5 irregular 2 tactical awarness 1 impetuous I always used. Need to reduce fanous ava from 3 to 2 at less, to reduce tractor mule from 2 to 1. Slight ava ajustements but logic. In my list I’ve got a ruishi, 20pts 1,5 swc. It’s more expensive than in YJ for sure ! But I link it. Then during more than 6 orders I hear myself saying : « ok I shoot -... (whatever) - ok 5 dices at 18 (whatever the situation is) » That is a bit awkward. Then I can fill my Zuyong fireteam with ... 12 pts bounty hunters BS 12, akrylat canon+ smg ... plus a random bounty. Maybe limit the ava at 2 ? Smg discount versus combi rifle is a robbery :D but that’s not the point of this post.. Well thing is during my first turn I can reach whoever I want and it’s really hard too resist to mc murrough and a ruishi in fireteam with 2 liberto able to disrupt opponent defense. CB try to balance slightly but something need to be done ^^ PS : I started to play Dahshat to learn how to defeat them following a violent defeat against @Myomer in the first round of the interplanetario 2019. I must admit : I did not find any clue yet :D Even versus hacking which maybe was meant to be a "weakness" deflector l2 make the things easier ^^
It's not a weakness per se, but Dahshat has very limited hidden deployment and AD options. Only Saito can materialize for a nasty surprise, and your only AD option is Bashi Bazouk. So in this regard, most of the time you play against Dahshat, what you see is what you get. But even that is mitigated somewhat by having plenty of good camo units, some of them with Minelayer.
What I wish for is getting a PanO-centric NA2, basically CSU - the sectorial. FC is close, but its awkward fireteam composition and focus on characters puts me off.
What about a second Arslan profile? With a custom suit of Orc armour? With a red fury or AP spitfire... Chances are most people would only want one HI leading a link as a spearhead anyway, right? I kind of feel that's role he is intended to have. A powerful link leader to help you push out of the DZ. But he's slow and kinda expensive... Or failing that, what about Jujaks?
Does anyone know if Medium Infantry are becoming 4-4 move in N4? If so I think it's going to be huge for Druze.
Based on C1 it looks like at least some of them are. It depends on how often you do move-move orders as opposed to move-shoot orders.
I think it's been one of the drawbacks for just having more Druze in a Druze list. lol. No one can be on target like an infiltrator but what do you do when you don't have them? they need to get up and get moving!
Also, I know it's like a few days before N4 drops off, but please give Scarface the Berserk skill. He's miserable enough as it is, capitalizing on his close combat potential won't make him broken, it's still gonna be a BS13 ARM5 TAG but at least he will be able to trade with some important 1W units.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Scarface and the Anaconda drop 10pts or so. They are just so bad right now, at the same level as Geckos. And sweet Jesus, I would kill for an effective pointman in my Druze links.
Just 10 points? If I compare Shakush' points and stats this coming edition looks like it's going to be real spicy for TAG-lovers.
Geckos aren't bad... you just need to have a plan for them and to use them for that plan. But I'll agree, they really didn't need to have a cost increase for TacAware when most other TAGs avoided it.
The expensive and already good TAGs avoided it. The cheap TAGs got a cost increase. It's ok, I'm sure they'll get better in the new edition.
