The problem lies with the (lack of) usefulness of those loadouts then. If all of them were a valid choice in some circumstance, that box would be just fine.
On one hand I didn't buy Shit Dickram because he's awful and the profiles offend me with how terrible they are. On the other hand I have 3 Guijias (before they got the DA CCW and TacAw).
I guess there's no arguing with the fact that the models are still the main draw in miniature wargaming :P
I bought Kokram to use as Tai Sheng, specifically because her actual model looks like a boring rush job, and let's face it, he was clearly made for that trooper profile. I used him as Krit a couple of times. I really tried to make him work because he is such a good looking model, and the basic idea has some novelty. What an awful waste. Both of a profile and of my time in using him.
Same here. It was only one figure, looked good, and I could proxy as Tai Sheng. I did finally get Tai Sheng but the figure is meh compared to others.
*looks around desk* I should have Tai Sheng around here somewhere. Haven't figured out how to put a back-mounted banner on her yet, I think that would sell the model just fine. It'd be fairly manga if not quite what we expect from Infinity
I just want to add that I have nothing to add to this discussion since I'm totally new to Infinity. I don't understand everything you're talking about, but this has been a fascinating read.
Ever played a massed TAG battle with all of them? It's ridiculously fun. Feels like a different scale of game. Also, do you have multiples of any other TAGs? Back on-topic, if Krit gets fixed in N4, gizmokits will make fixing TAGs under fire for less orders possibly useful. Krit might actually be worth-ish the points. Also the more armor/STR units you have around to fix, the more valuable a durable Engineer is (I know, the Haidao exists).
Got a couple of geckos but I don't think those count Really comes down to whether or not you can hurt the TAG with failed rolls or if you can reroll somehow. Otherwise it'll be the same too risky and few people ever try to repair manned TAGs
So I just noticed in the video today that Tinbots work against jammers now. Not quite as relevant with the jammer nerfs, but it does help our linked HI. With the jammer in FT nerf I'm a little sad I won't get a chance to play with linked Tian Gou jammers though heh.
Unless N4 changes things, Tinbot B is Deflector L2, not Firewall. Fairy Dust is, though, which will make full HI links a bit more palatable since there won't be a weak link for the Jammer.
I know Bostria isn't the end-all for rules, but he does use Tinbots as an example here: edit: Seems timestamps don't work? It's at about 8:25
I would be amazingly happy to be wrong, but Infinity has conditioned me to prepare for sadness in all things. I'll believe they consolidated Hacking defenses as Firewall when the book says that, and not a moment sooner. Probably a little later, as I'll have to spend time sobbing about half my armies being gone.
Frankly, I trust you more than the rulebooks. Get out the party hats and confetti, Yu Jing has nice things once more!
