1. Hello, I'm Ariadna player and I have no problems with classifieds. What am I doing wrong? Metro Paramedic and Line Kazaks often help me to win the game. Defence Grunt link, with snipers who waste Marksmen X, without missile launcher... Hope you kidding, son. Def Links for kids, pushing mid-field turn 2 Links - for Men. 2. Hardcase + Grunt can't do Sabotage, can't break wall by 1 order to make new path or break only 1 door in Armory like houses. They can only kill ppl. But they are good enough. Why not to take em and Rosie?
I play Ariadna and USARF. In Ariadna i never think to use a grunt spec ops. We have Uxia and if we need to open only one door, Isobel. In Ariadna vanilla we have a lot of best option than rosie.
I think in vanilla Ariadna Rosie will bring limited mileage but I think in USARF she will be a game changer. She is a pretty sturdy (ARM3 dogged) specialist. That is not bad. She also rocks a solid weapon (LRL - circular template FIRE weapon with decent range) for NO SWC cost at all. When you start spending your SWCs on double Spetsnaz, double minelayer Chasseur and the like, you will quickly realize how useful a zero-swc trooper with a solid weapon can be. She is a pretty good ARO piece (thanks to dogged she will not go down easily). I think the main selling point in vanilla Ariadna is her doubling as a sturdy specialist and a decent gunfighter at the same time. Can be especially handy in 10-order lists. Regarding USARF she can be shoveled into a fireteam. Her wepon is useful as an ARO and an offensive weapon - making her useful addition to a defensive and an offensive fireteam in equal measure. I think this is huge. At decent price tag she brings a specialist and a relatively long range weapon to the party. The selling point - even more than in vanilla - is the zero SWC cost. I presume you will not have a hard time spending those SWCs on infiltrating HFT Grunts... Last time I checked USARF maxed out on SWC cost almost always.
maybe, but vanilla has access to more efficient source for powerful AROs, cost effectiveness, and/or camo/infiltrating specialist roles. Rosie just doesn't stand out to me in vanilla when she's also competing with just a ton of units in the 20-25pt mid cost range. She definitely shines brightest in USARF
Try Intel Grunt with Sniper, BS12, Mimetism, comrade. It almost the same as old, N2 TankHunter Sniper. But costs only 10 points.
I like the profile for USARF. There are other choices for vanilla but this changes the game completely for, grunt links. I typically run snipers to,lock down parts of the board. This adds flexibility and a weapon that was not available to grunt links previously. I am not sure why people think ariadna has trouble with classified objectives. Having a specialist with d charges makes it even easier. Hacking we have limited choices but it is still available. We are spoiled for FOs and have good access to medics. I am bringing her to rumble next week and see how she does
she is solid without being gamechanging, which would normally be fine. except when you compare her neighbour of the box who is amazing and totally changes onyx.
I hate it, but I agree. Kerr-Nau's profile seems far better compared with Rosie. I think Rosie will need to rely on being in the grunt fireteam where kerr-nau could be useful either way. Obviously the points is reflect all this. I just wish Rosie had an SMG instead of the Light Shotty.
Really? I didnt know the smg was cheaper. But I think giving her a Suppression Fire option would've been perfect
SMGs would be quite balanced without AP mode and without Suppressive Fire. Right now they're MULTI Rifles but for -9 points.
It would be fair for the cost, consistent with previous editions, and put some stock in all those poor Bioimmunity profiles.
SMGs should be damage 12 and lose AP and shock, maybe pick up burst 4. Assault pistols should be damage 11.
SMGs are awesome for basically three reasons: 1) cheap as chips 2) can overcome the drawback of shortish range via SF 3) huge versatility with ability to use AP or shock ammo Take away one of these and SMG profiles will be far less popular. Take away two of them and players will not take these profiles. (At least I feel so.)
I doubt losing some of their ammo options will be felt that badly tbh. In terms of profile attractiveness, I mean.
Huh I never really took any of all that about SMGs into account. I knew there was a reason I always field Thorakitai with SMGs in SP.
I think they should take away the ammo modes as a default, keep everything else the same. Still room for them to put ap or shock smgs on profiles that could use them.
