I was refering to the firepower/cost ratio. All Bronze loadouts seem to be very undergunned with the exception of the +Damage Red Fury. But even that profile costs 14 points more than the Spitfire Beta and the same as the higher Burst, Range and Damage HMG Gamma. His survivability is very good and I'm curious which of the o-12 HI options will win out in that regard with 4 solid to great choices in terms of survivability. But his offensive firepower tend to be (too) short ranged for offensive play. I faced them pretty often and they never saw round 2 and I'm hard pressed to remember a game where any biker ever killed a unit of mine.
I think use of the Bronze will depend on the mission, I am of the opinion that he will see use primarily in missions like armory or acquisition, and if your meta uses dense tables (like mine) then his short range is not a problem. I agree however he is to exspensive justify using him over the Gamma or Beta in other missions or open tables.
Although she isn't a Starmada unit, what do yall think about Octavia Grimmsdöter? She is a really good missile launcher, one out of three, but will have some competition with the missile bot if nothing changes to hacking remotes. The sixth sense might make her useful in guarding against camo and such, and if sixth sense stays the same then, she will be able to hold, making her even more a threat.
So would I use her in vanilla, sure I would consider it as we in general lack distant based anti armor weapons (ML on Kappa, her, Zeta and the Gamma with feuerbach). In N3 sixth sense would prevent smoke trick to kill her easily but I would probably fire a few shots and then put my head down or except she will die and put her in an annoying spot to keep my enemy back (I do that a lot with Marauders and Post Humans in my other factions). Just remember do not expect her ever to win vs a fire team unless you can help her; and there in lies the problem a fire team at +3 BS and +1 Burst makes most independent fighters worthless unless they are TO, give enemies negatives, kills off the soft targets first or in the case of my brother you bring a TAG and your enemy did not get the memo.
Not 100% convinced by her utility in ARO, even with 6th sense a burst 1 missile with no vis mods or visors isn't going to be much threat. In the Active she's looking to hunt things by outranging them, or dropping pie plates in grouped Fireteams forcing them to either ask 3 Dodge or drop some members from the FT.
Cheap enough to take her just for if a good attack opportunity comes up. In vanilla you can always take a lynx sniper to snipe in ARO if someone decides to take a shot at her.
I find her underwhelming, she has two massive strikes against her; 1. its an ML 2. it is an unlinked ML there's a reason why you never see the ML agema.
You're likely to start seeing more of it... or would have, if SP wasn't being discontinued. But the value of AP+EXP is going up, so expecting to see more missile launchers, panzerfausts, feuerbachs etc.
Not really, you have linked feuerbachs and Teucer which are just better, also the agema MK12 is far more valuable especially with the CT to enter suppressive, and MLs still have their abysmal rangebands that prevent them from being remotely useful unless you are playing on a ridiculously open open table with a doom tower in the DZ. Even if they weren't being discontinued I doubt you'll see much of them in N4, short of a full overhaul that faction would be DOA with the edition change.
I can't seem to find the statline for Octavia, could someone provide a link to it? The value of a missile launcher's damage output isn't going up much as it was already very very high. They still struggle to actually win a Face to Face owing to being low burst and in ARO they preferably need supporting abilities to perform - just like any gun really, but the missile launcher also has terrible range bands as Tourniquet wrote.
Much prefer to spend a few more points and pick up a Lynx MSR, or save some points and take the Dakini MSR.
Oktavia best Kappa ML proxy for now. Im gona run a Kappa ARO team in Starmada. Vanilla O-12 well, she is nice option, not the best but she can fit well... but Lynx beats a lot of situations can handle instead Oktavia, the MRS and plasma carbine are awesome.
oktavia is a really fun cho holo option in vanilla. just put her prone on a roof and let them sweat it out.
They still get B1 DA ammo, and the Lynx's TO Camo is one hell of an edge in both the ARO and active roles. Oktavia's probably a bit stronger for hunting TAGs, but I think she'll also be more luck dependant since the TAG is still hitting on its flat BS of 14 or 15 to Oktavia's 12, giving it a decent chance to just out-roll her. The rare B2 Contender is more interesting to me, it has higher potential to Wound than a Rifle in the same range bands but still compares unfavourably to the Plasma Carbine. I guess she might have a niche in Biotechvore or other scenarios where you need to move up the board but still want a big anti-armour template to remove a potential TAG or HI Feuerbach left out to ARO.
Oktavia is more or less a Keisotsu ML with full Core bonuses :p That's not bad, but it's not good, either. No bad range bands if you can judge distances decently. The most interesting thing about her is the "and to the Shasvasti sectorial"!
Not really, I'm pretty sure SEF alone has as many new characters for N4 as the rest of Infinity put together. Don't know what's up with CB and that faction, but they sure do love it. Edit; also Dogged has its uses! Not as good as in N3 thanks to new crits making it a bit more likely to down her, but tanking a stray long-range combi shot on turn 3 can win games.
