Information released in the GTM issue.

Don't know if pictures of this are allowed yet, but they're out on the internet.

The pictures haven't been removed, so it's safe to assume they're allowed.

So now that we are losing a big chunk of our roster, can YJ please have increased AVA on Guilang, Daofei and Hac tao to make up for it? It's only fair.

It's possible that Vanilla will stay as is minus some characters, and it's just the Sectorial jumping ship. That would be the cleanest way to resolve this without messing up what people have purchased for their collections because if you played JSA, you could only play 2 JSA lists together anyway for ITS so this doesn't actually change the status quo just the banner you play under.

    Only fair?
Reduced to one sectorial and generic list, if Invincible Army is not released before May this faction is critical wounded. And even then it'll lose a lot of potential players. A half or more of current YuJing players started with JSA and later branched into the ISS and generic.

Even if JSA units leave YJ, I dont think it'll massively change things. A few players may leave, but JSA will get a huge boost - especially considering they're already a very popular army. ISS wont be affected, and YJ will get new toys.

    .

ALEPH lives off one sectorial, so we can't be too upset, but yeah, give us linkable Zhanshis and Zuyong already!

I want increased AVA on our star players as a stopgap though and we'd fucking deserve it if this goes the way it is going.

Hrm, well hopefully vanilla gets to keep the JSA stuff it makes heavy use of, but I'm not holding my breath.

Probably would have been better to it as two factions, Japanese Regional Army and Japanese Secessionist Army, but it seems that ship has officially sailed.

I don't really know how to react (and in all honesty, this could still go several different ways once it drops). On the one hand, I don't play JSA, on the other I play a ton of vanilla and a bunch of JSA profiles are basically mainstays in my list. If those profiles leave the army as a whole, then I'm sort of up shit creek until the Invincible Army steps up to the plate.

It also sucks going down to just a single Sectorial as well, especially since we likely can't expect White Banner before 2020 (since they'd be a great list to fill in low-to-mid cost profiles we'll be losing when the JSA leaves). Having a large chunk of units excised from the list will certainly make things a lot more homogeneous (assuming vanilla loses access to everything, perhaps save ninja) unless we get some profile improvements, replacements, and possibly some outright AVA boosts on some things.

At the end of the day, I still don't really know what this properly entails with regards to the Yu Jing list. While we're losing the sectorial as a sub-faction of Yu Jing, we don't really know if that means dumping profiles wholesale or what yet. Vanilla could well keep several JSA profiles (or even get replacements) and ISS may not lose the ninja (I assume they wont at least, since they have a penchant for freelancers in their force either way). So even though I'm bracing for the worst, this may or may not turn out to be a Ko Dali 2.0 situation.

Welcome back to Team Awesome, Japan. Your defeat of the weak State Empire will in no way horribly backfire, as we Nomads are your friends, as are those Druze dudes, and we both are in no way already plotting to subvert your society so we have more people to sell All Of The Illegal Things to.

Are they really taking one third of yu jings player base away?

I don't think it would be a straight steal, seems a bit cray cray.

Well, we're getting a book release in 2018 and CB have shown (and it will most likely be where the new sectorials releasing this year will be collected), no matter what their best intentions are they are incapable of giving us a brand new book faster than 2 years. So while they've said (much like they have before) that they want to do smaller and more frequent releases, I'm expecting Acheron Falls (or whatever it will be called) and its attendant sectorials no earlier than 2020.

It could occur that we get the long-awaited fourth book in 2019, but I wouldn't put money on it right now. I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised of course, but after all these years I've decided it's best not to get my hopes up. CB work at their own pace, stuff is done when it's done, the next wave of sectorials is most likely waiting for a 2020 or later release window.

I mean, how much mileage were vanilla players getting out of JSA troops to begin with?

I know I've said this in other places, but Keisotsu are nice in vanilla but inferior to Kuang Shi in Vanilla, Kempeitai doesn't have CoC in vanilla, the only Aragoto profile seeing significant play in Vanilla is the Assault Hacker, the Raiden is outclassed by other long range ARO pieces, the Domaru are meh in Vanilla, the Haramaki are pretty much useless in Vanilla, and basically no one was playing the Karakuri outside of the sectorial. Only big losses are Tokusetsu Butai, Oniwaban, and Ninja, and a lot of people seem to think it's likely Ninja will stay but with lower AVA.

What JSA units does everyone feel like is tying Vanilla together to make it hurt so much? If anything, Vanilla YJ felt a little too strong before.

You missed the Keisotsu hacker. Pretty commonly paired with Rui Shi in Vanilla. Between the Tokusetsu and the Keisotsu basically most lists are losing their Yao Zao/Warcor which is a slight annoyance.

Do we really have that many long range aro options? The husong I guess and just as many Merc snipers as any other faction. The raiden is amazing.

You're not wrong, but Lunah is 8 pts more expensive and the Yan huo doesn't have camo, is much larger, and is three times the cost. I need my point efficiency ><

Lunah also has mimitism (a huge plus over the Raiden), and a viral sniper. She's easily worth the extra points.
Yan Huo also is much more survivable (+2 arm, extra wound, bs14) and can dish out 6 potential wounds in ARO. Even if it doesn't have camo, it is way more devestating.

The Raiden brings minelayer and a surprise impact template for annihilating links though.

I hoping we see many/all profiles kept as loyalist members of the Statempire army (except maybe the characters) whilst the new trooper types become Secessionist army only.

Sending them NA2 means new troops can be added without improving a Vanilla faction or adding more Mercs to Soldier of Fortune events.
