From the last Corvus Belli video announcement, informational videos should start arriving on August 10th. That is so far away!

This is the new Saladin O-12 profile. Do we know if this will affect the Haqqislam profile? I hope not as going down to Strategos L1 from L3 does not seem worth shock immunity,+4 CC, 4-4 move and 2 points.

No, we don't know. In fact the O-12 Saladin is the closest thing to anything Haqqislam we do know.
Also, keep in mind that you're now just comparing an N4 profile to a N3 one. And that's apples to oranges.

    Have patience, o brother.

Hellois said in his hot/cold thread that it’s ”hot” that Haqq will get the o12 profile.

Strategos levels don’t translate directly between N3 and N4.

I prefer melissa, than mint tea ;)
Still there's nothing wrong with some wishlisting or some discussion - that's what the topic is for.

So - I looked briefly at the new profiles in Starmada with two that catched my eye mostly.
The first is Saladin - ofcourse. I hope that Strategos won't get flatted to much, I really like how it works now. But definitely our true Sal needs some buff in comparison with what the O12 guy got, like Shock Imm for example and higher CC to defend better against attack. It was said that we propably will get the access to this new one too - and that's also interesting. Still I'd rather prefer having Strategos L3 than what this new have - simply because main role of Sal is to be a good leader, and deploying 2 units after enemy is great. I prefer this over another Command Token.

The second unit that really got me thinking is Bronzes.
I know that comparing units between armies isn't the best thing, and comparing units from different editions isn't fantastic idea either, but still - why not? ;) I really really hope our Namurrs will get some treatment - I know they're quite new, but looking at Bronzes Namurrs are even more dull.
I thought about Namurrs, because Bronzes also have Total Immunity, Climbing Plus and an option for Specialist Operative.
Bronze Specialist Operative costs 53pts, having Multi Rifle, Light Riotstopper, E/M CCW et cetera. 15 pts more than Namurr with Rifle. Not that small difference, but Bronzes are better in almost everything, from simple CC (with Martial Arts) or BS, they also have Total Immunity, but with ARM 4 BTS 5. And 2 wounds. And 360 Visor. That makes them really tough nuts to crack.
And that's why I hope we will see some changes to Namurr. I know they fill a different role, I also heard that Total Immunity will change, I just want to have some good reason to field them ;)

I'm also really curious what changes we'll see for Ghazi. I'm not one of those players that started their armylists with 4 of them, I even sometimes didn't use any, but they were great in N3.

So - here's some of my thoughts.
Let Haqqislam grow strong in N4!

Ahh well, considering Bostrias trackrecord of misremembering things, I guess Hellois is to be trusted more.

@KedzioR_vo melissa is not in-character, at least not as much as mint tea (hot or cold :P), but if you need to calm down than just take it cool, man, whatever goes with your baklava ;) ...says the guy who had two coffees already, and it is not even the noon yet :P

I keep saying - we don't know what things are going to be in N4 and how they are going to work. From my local group's discussion, it seems that CB is veering for slightly cheaper elite units, and slightly more resilient elite units in this edition. I.e. ones that won't be that easy to one-shot. C1-style Critical rule seems to be one of the steps in that direction, as is a NWI + Shock Immunity combination.

This all seems, in my eyes, mean they want to promote playing with limited amount of models - think Limited Insertion or, at best, Tactical Window-type lists. In 2ed and N3, horde-type lists felt (to my meta at least) as providing serious advantage to horde-type lists with 2 full Combat Groups. Though late N3 seemed to try and work more towards smaller lists advantage - by introducing skills like Tactical Awareness, Lieutenant L2 and NCO (especially when you were able to combine these). While these tended to be on the more expensive units, it allowed you to have, effectively, more than 10 usable Orders in a 10-model Combat Group. Having Tarik Lt L2 and NCO Ghulam GL in the same list... I'm sure you know what I mean :)

My local WarCor does also speculate we might be seeing more Lt. options with special abilities regaridng how they lead the troops. The O-12 Saladin is an example - not only does he bring ridiculous WIP of 16 to the table, but there's also Strategos L1 (whatever it means under N4 rules!), but he also provides you with an extra Command Token. Not too shabby, is it?
Sure, I do hope, like you, that when Saladin comes to lead the troops who truly love him, he might really put a show (hmm, Inspiring Leadership in Haqq? That's just a random wild idea off the top of my fez, of course ;)).

As for comparing troops between editions, I'm not going to do that. Let's wait for more data. Maybe in today's Kosmoflot vid we'll see some remade Ariadna units, and we'll be able to tell which direction the wind blows with N4 changes.
Well, or maybe not. We'll see.

In the meantime - mint tea and baklava, anyone? ;)

The Kosmoflot video showed some cool ideas. Looking at the Volkolak, I can definitely see the Namurr getting some additional skills or a price cut in N4.

I'm sure this is in jest, as it would be an insane power boost to haqq with how much irregular there is. But as a dream it would be wild for sure.

For RTF it would be absolutely okay. For Vanilla...well without some AVA restictions it would be bonkers. But its a skill, I want in Haqq badly.

So one of the major items stated at the virtual Interplanetario today was the default ITS limit to 15 orders. While that works with how I usually build my list, how is everyone else who uses primarily Haqqislam feel about it?

Note that the limit does not extend to casual games.

My lists have to change, because I use alot of the irregular dudes. Dont like that.
They are going to adress that with changes in the profiles, which is good, but i fear that a defining trait of Haqq is going down the drain. Especially in HB.

But honestly, I wait and hope that CB can pull it off.

I feel like HB's identity is strengthened, rather than weakened, by fielding fewer irregular units. Looks like HB is going to shift a fair bit with what we know so far. Jammers will be weakened (though Kameel stocks are up ever so slightly I suppose), the sectorial is getting a TAG with a competitive price point, Govads can see through smoke, and while I wont speculate on the (awesome looking) character, the Shujae's kit and high-tech look indicates to me something with some flavour of Camo, Holo or Impersonation. I'm personally hoping for some Hidden deployment.

I think it's vanilla list variation that will feel it more. The irregular options will likely shift from being a main component to either becoming excellent for rounding out lists that are taking some of the more premium pieces or serving as utility pieces slotted in for particular purposes.

Well, so far my Hassassin lists tended to depend a lot on the numbers and cheap, Irregular troops as a matter of providing them with staying power. Otherwise it was all too easy to lose most of the army on the enemy turn 1. Classic glass hammer problem.

With a 15-model cap, that won't be really an option anymore.

How exactly are my lists going to look in N4 - that, however, remains to be seen. Hassassins are being said to face a major redo, so perhaps they'll gain some more staying power (apart from the TAG) to make them viable.

To be honest I never fully understood why Haqqislam is seen as a spam army if we have one of the most expensive line infantry (Ghulams / Naffatuns). We also have great, cheap, irregular guys (Ghazi, Daylami), but still my favourite 300 pts lists were created with about 14-16 units. Or even wiht 1 CG - because that's the Infinity I like the most ;)
So I don't feel the new Tactical Window suggestion as something bad.
We have to wait and see what changes will the fatty ones get. It seems that HI and TAGs are getting cheaper, both in pts and SWC so it will be interesting to field more of them instead of some lighter units. In N2 one of my staple units was AzRa'il Feuerbach - and I'd gladly come back to regularly fielding some HI or even the new TAG in my lists.
