I think you misunderstood. Gizmokit is a device some engineer profiles have. it works like a medikit for structure points, actually it allows to repair structure points too. It just happens that as it uses PH value as the target roll but TAGs have high PH values the target value when using a gizmokit on a TAG is referenced in the TAG profile as a skill. It's just saying that whenever an unit with a gizmokit uses it on that TAG, the TAG must pass a PH 11 roll in order to succeed.

When I was thinking about this upcoming TAG I came to a conclusion, that I'd like some quite fast, light unit - maybe comparable with Scarface. What we're getting is maybe a bit more plain, but still I'm really happy with it. I used our fatties, like Azra'il, Fassed, and they were nice, but I'll gladly use a faster, tougher and better shooting unit with Tactical Awareness and Heavy Flamethrower on top of that :) The choice of AP Spit or MG is also good. And the cost is not so big. And only 1,5 SWC - maybe CB is changing the SWC balance?

I hope the miniature will be great and the head will look good on it. Because it's the only weird thing about the TAG, still it looks much better on the Concept Design than on the art.

Very much agreed on that point. I think it's the angle of perspective of the art that makes the head look strange.

Would have liked it with Mov 6-4 and C+, but I find it interesting enough to use it anyway. TacAw with a Dam 15 AP-Spitfire will be useful against other MBT. And with only 15 Models allowed, it is good to have something a bit more expensive and able to work without a Link.

Oh, so it doesn't have a GizmoKit, it's resistant to GizmoKits?

I think thats how these things work in general. You have to roll the value, that is in the targets profile.

GizmoKits are like MediKits, the target makes a PH Roll. As TAGs have such high PH values, they have a separate PH value for when you hit them with a GizmoKit. Because you don't want PanO fixing a damaged Jotum at range on PH18!

I'm confused but what are we getting excited about? Outside of HB just having a TAG and it hopefully looking cool its doesn't seem to be or do anything interesting.

I'm just not getting why a people shaped but worse maggie was what you would do with the chance to make an all new TAG for a faction with only one TAG.

Well, no, it's better than the Maggie.

    But still not particularly good.

The Spitfire profile is somewhat more interesting, but not comparable to Maggie given the different rangebands. And still not particularly good.

But that's all in the context of N3. In N4, everything will be re-priced and re-balanced, so who knows!

I wouldn't call it better than a maggie. Maggie has better armor and better versions of the same weapons (AP heavy pistol is better than AP CCW). The Maggie isn't awesome and is just a unit that does basic TAG things. So as a RTF player I am confused why this new TAG exists if all its going to do is basic TAG stuff.

All I have to look forward to is that the Maggie gets better which doesn't help the new TAG but at least the Maggie is unique.

20 points cheaper and a much smaller silhouette. A 2 ARM difference is negligible.

The heavy pistol Maggie profile doesn't really exist, why would you ever take that over the flamethrower? The CCWs don't matter in the slightest, neither TAG is any good in CC.

The Maggie's big advantage is the Multi HMG, which will probably be somewhat more significant in N4. But do you really want to pay an extra 20 points and enlarged silhouette just for effectively +2/3 DAM on your already DAM 16 HMG?

The HMG Shakush is better than the Maggie, but ultimately they both have the same basic problem - at BS14 with no gunfighting skills like mimetism or MSV, they just can't reliably win the F2F against the kind of AROs that a TAG needs to be able to take down.

Probably only comes down to getting the Face to Face roll within that 8" band against things that are great at dodging templates... Especially now that there is active turn movement from dodging.

The Mine dispenser is awesome! I hope it won't be limited to RTF in N4.

I prefer the multi hmg personally. I want to put down what I am shooting for good and shock/ap answers more problems than normal ammo. Plus in a pinch stun has stalled out a rambo run on ARO.

The heavy pistol has saved my Maggie's bacon more times than a heavy flamer has. Any good CC unit just dodges the template but the pistol gives a sliver of a chance to win a FtoF. Though you can get both for the points.

Also the enlarged silhouette has been a boon more than a bane for me.

The Maggie isn't awesome but it has a role the new TAG is just a chunky Janissary that can't fireteam or a dumpy Asawira that can't fireteam and has no reason to exist.

The new TAG has a great number of reasons to exists:
    1. It looks cool.
    2. Haqqislam players have been asking for 2nd TAG for awhile.
    3. It brings a solid price point that didn't really exist that much for Haqqislam (mid 50s).
    4. Provides an aggressive close range unit with an DAM 15 AP spitfire with 3 wounds. Haqqislam doesn't have a lot of durable pieces and this can breakthrough to get a specialist to a difficult place.
    5. This is our 3rd BS 14 unit.
    6. It gives us another target for our wonderful engineers (Haqq has a great variety with high WIP) and good hackers to support (we have a couple who are WIP 15).
    7. It looks cool.
I am glad that we are getting this. It opens a new play style for us.
