So... Oblivion being Breaker and on all (much cheaper) regular HDs... Not going to lie, it's looking grim for HI armies.

I mean, when has the game ever been favorable to baseline HI? Having played since N2, I personally say "never"

    True. "Grimmer than ever"

I think the golden ratio of HI is moving strongly towards 1 per list, and specifically 1 premium HI per list. The Oblivion proliferation also makes REMs much less valuable as well.

Look, I know some people have been heralding that as a preferred change to Oblivion, but keep in mind that the likelihood of the unit remaining in the Hacking Area of the Hacker that caused it as well as the likelihood of the Reset carrying negative MODs, I'm not sure that's a buff as it would only allow your opponent to stack on even more negative MODs and as was put in the video have the reset attempts be "frustrated".

As long as it prevents spending orders on the unit, it's gonna be harsh AF.

You can tell that the outcome was already set. The whole things was a "created" batrep to show some skills. There were many things a player wouldn't do but they did in order to show some stuff. Not really bad but not as fun either.

I don't think there is a penalty for them anymore. Will be interesting to see if this is true for TAGs as well (or if they get a bunch of Kosmosoldat style Dodging, which would be interesting if Blue Wolf starts dodging without those penalties - i.e. at 18)

I do that with my starco. It's basically all pano+outrage mini's. I use it as my hexahedron deniable ops group. No one bats an eye when I use my orcs as mobile brigada or fusiliers as alguaciles and etc...

So much for the supposed discount for HI. The more I see the more I'm afraid N4 is gonna be a huge letdown and it'll just be N3 with a handful of bandaids, like those half assed "Sectorials" they have shown that basically boil down to "let's make a Sectorial with every type of mini we want to sell, fuck fluff"

I have another question, why the fuck would anyone take an AHD now? The regular HD now packs both Carbonite and Oblivion.

It is quite possible AHD doesn't exist anymore

That'd actually be a good thing for us, which HD did the Shang Ji have in the batrep? If we could get regular HDs on our HI instead of AHDs that'd make it easier to get supportware into lists and the oblivion situation less problematic if we can get Fairy Dust without needing to worry about slotting hackers into AVA4 Zhanshi groups.

It would depend on what programs remain and what devices have what programs.

They made sure the Shang-Ji didn't get much done, but they only mentioned it as a "Hacking Device".

Also, I note that the Shang-Ji during the reactive turn caused the Crusher to take two ARM rolls, which shouldn't be possible with their CodeOne profile having a Chain-Colt. At the same time, the saving throw for the Shang-Ji weren't shown and the Zhanshi only took 1 ARM roll even though the Crusher's only DTW is the BSG which has B2. Who knows what's true, but I'm suspecting that they played this with the Yu Jing side being N3 profiles ported to N4, not the actual N4 profiles.

Why would they do a N4 battle report without the actual N4 profiles? I also want N4 to solve many problems N3 had, but let's be real (and ready for disappointment)

So as not to spoil surprises for later, or because they produced the video before they done with all changes.

Complaining about thorroughly mediocre Starmada, really?
Did anyone even see the new Ariadna Sectorial or White Company, those actually look nice.

Hacking looks very relevant now which makes defenses against it all the more valueable. YJ is doing pretty good on Tinbots and their own baseline Hacking is far from bad. The overall pricecut for 30-70 points HI is a rather big chunk with a whole Sectorial to massively benefit from.

btw - comparing a Bronze to Achilles... bit of a stretch, no? BS13 MODless C+ Dude with Total Immunity vs a completely different kit?

Who compared Bronze to Achilles in what context? I can't find it, not that it's not important.

I would never accuse Yu Jing of being good at hacking, as that is a relative term and all factions that have a hacking game besides Pan-O are quite obviously better at it. The most important element to hacking is repeater coverage and that's an area where Yu Jing is particularly bad.

The video hinted that there are no such discount with the Dao Fei being unchanged in price.
