Sure, man. Because, as it stands, MSV3 is boring and fails, to me, to represent a pinnacle of technology. MSV has two effects (with the change to MSV1); reduce the effectiveness of smoke and reduce the effectiveness of camo. MSV3’s effects only improve upon the latter, because, really, how do you improve upon the former from MSV2’s effect? Let it see through Eclipse? (Not a horrible idea, just far more limited in scope) Dialing down the effectiveness (and cost, just to be explicit) of MSV2 allows MSV3 to be pinnacle at both effects. Really, also, I’d like there to be a Mimetism-9 as well, with MSV reducing penalties by 3/6/9 respective to level.
Again, nerfing something does nothing to buff another something. I mean, it's pretty obvious. MSV3 represents the pinnacle of MSV tech because you auto discover; that's a significant step up from MSV2 but the pricing is over the top
The price isn't actually that high, it just seems like Anathematic pays overprice* for it. Aquila and Asura seem to pay a fairly reasonable price if you cross-compare between Hac Tao-Swiss vs Hsien-Aquila**. It's more than Pan-O is lacking smoke to take full advantage of it so for Pan-O it's overkill while Asura has minor problems getting to where they need to be to make effective use of their guns. * Maybe, now that I examine it, it might simply be that TO camo and MSV2+ on the above units are simply put really damned expensive compared to on light infantry. ** There's some very strong similarities between the respective unit pairs and their respective units in-faction, so I'd expect an Aquila with HMG and MSV2 to cost 61 points minus whatever Martial Arts costs.
After having watched the Starmada Profiles Video I am VERY (very, very) skeptical that N4 will solve any of the problems I perceive as problems. First Sixth Sense works now like Sixth Sense L2 and in combination with the statement that fireteam-boni won't change this is ... bad. Second, looking at Starmada Fireteams, the same Min-Maxing as in N3 seems to go on in N4. While I like the Bluecoats, the ADHL-one is way too cheep and can form fireteams with the Total Immunity Bronzes. Third: Too many wildcards. Why not go fully retar... äh ... Wildcard and let everything link with everything? I'll have to hold my final opinion till I see all the rules, but what I have seen till now ... doesn't make me happy.
While Jammers will be changed, yes, you are right, I forgot about this. Makes me even more skeptical. Add another "very" please
@Bostria said the opposite in the latest video while talking about the bluecoats, are you confirming he said this in error?
Going back and looking at CodeOne profiles, returning to my belief it’s a typo, regardless of what Bostria said... having one system in CodeOne and one in N4 seems unlikely in the extreme.
I agree - not with so much verys - but I agree that I had a glimpse of hope, that they will tune down with the link-shenghai-possibilitys. It looks like the opposite will happen. More Wildcards, more complicated variations and link-combos. We will see how many sectorials will have how many fireteam combos... and how many pages of wiki we need, to explain every single one of them.
So is nobody going to mention what looks like some new easy to build buildings in the video next to Bostria?
Oops my bad thanks for clearing that up. The only ones I knew that MAS had were the smaller buildings that look like small apartments.
Confused about this. Hector is a Wildcard but then goes on to to specifically Nyoka and Beta troops. Man I wish they had gotten rid of fire teams. Probably the most confusing rules the had and they still have not cleared it up.
They went and made it so bad they needed a whole extra graphic to explain what goes with what. If there's no tool in Army for checking that crap it will be like CSU Duo all over again, but with half the factions in the damn game.
